I just thought of something, I'm flirting with a bunch of models with three legged dogs, man I love this club, does that give me and Gus an advantage
You can always lie and say you are a vet or heck, even a doctor and you'd have all the ladies flocking to you on here!

Joking aside, have you started a topic on Gus lately? I've caught your posts on his lung mets. I'm so sorry. Please forgive me if you have, I just can't remember and searching didn't pull him up. I tend to put ugly news out of my head.
If not, will you?

Ahem...while acknowleding the inquiry concerning the patient Master Gus, it has come to my attention that there has been no new topics entered in the forums relating to my associate since the diagnosis of the lung mets. Through careful screening of responses and results of clinical trials from my collegues in the tripawd community, several excellent potential treaments were suggested and along with a world reknown fellow veterinarian, we are currently pursuing which treatment we feel might best provide both the best quality of life and potentially slow the rate at which the cancer is progressing. Currently the patient is on prednisone along with an antacid which contains famotidine, and through the generousity of Dasha, the k-9 immunity program. We will be updating our fellow tripawds when we can offer any significant responses to the treatments or any sudden changes in the patient Gus. The support and concern of fellow tripawds has been greatly appreciated and will be respectfully acknowledged at all times. Currently Gus is doing great, with the rising of humidity having him give meaning to the term "dog days of summer" Whew, anybody need hosed down
My buddy Gus had a left front amputation on April 7, 2010 and lived a great life until July 26,2010
Trouble loves the dog days of summer. When I'm home, she goes out several times a day, just to lay in the heat and soak up the sun. Then she comes in the house and lays on the cool tile floor. Silly dog!
Shanna & Spirit Trouble ~ Trouble gained her wings 3/16/2011, a 27 1/2 month cancer survivor, tail wagging. RIP sweetheart, you are my heart and soul. Run free at Rainbow Bridge.

you know we are never happy are we...I would LOVE to be 5'9" or 5'8"...when you start at 5'2" and A HALF....always round up to 5'3" to try to mitigate the weight question (although spending a lot of time worrying about what Magic will eat and stuffing pills down him every couple of hours has tended to make me forget to eat MY meals! resulting in a little weight transferring to a little flab..huh? what kinda gain is that..oh never mind, gain said it)
and hey, Magic perfected the three legged hump and is an equal opportunity humper...poor OJ would just walk out from under him and leave Magic humping away (my hallway my hallway...)
new kitty search begins at 2, currently figuring out a way to block off hall bathroom - boy, it has been 17 years since I have had any NEW furkid that was young or just new to the house...and no older ones to mimic....of course I JUST gave away all the food and can't even find any in any of the away places....have rubbed a soft blankee all over Magic and put in carrier and am taking another with his scent with me to put in my lap...cross fingers for me...I could really use an easy going, affectionate, new furchild.....and these have been raised with a standard poodle (except for the newest youngest...) puppy who is apparently very active!! I would take Magic with me except we are meeting at the vet and I know what he would be thinking the whole time....Ruthie's mom is gonna meet me there and keep me from taking all of them (12? sure, load them up, I'll pick up more food....and boxes....and a bigger house)
Good luck with your kitty search, Diane. I'm sure the purrfect one will pick you!

I'm sorry I missed all of this....sure is a ramblin' on kind of place. I love it! Have to jump in on a couple of things - first of all, Diane hope you find your kitty. Secondly, have you seen pictures of Carmen and Ge'Lena......yes, models they definitely are! 3rd, Kobe licks incessantly too and his licks aren't just the regular run of the mill lick but he takes his tongue (when he's licking somebody's arm or leg, for example) and presses down so hard and long that you think you're being licked by a slimey sand paper. Sometimes he starts licking my husband in the middle of the night including his head and hair until my husband wakes up and is trying to figure out what's going on, meanwhile he's completely slimed by Kobe. It's pretty funny I must say (but my husband doesn't think so!) Kobe is a licking machine and that's all I'll say about that!
Gus and Dan, glad to hear that you're looking at these other options. Hope it works out for you. Oh and one more thing....a woman who tells her age tells all (one of my favorite quotes by Joan Collins ). I guess you could say the same about the year you graduated too. So I think we're back at the beginning where 50 is the new 30 and 60 is the new 40.
Kami (Mackenzie and Kobe's Mom)
My sweet golden Mackenzie. She became my angel on Dec 29, 2010 at the age of 8 1/2 although she was always my angel from the time we brought her home. She was diagnosed with osteosarcoma in Sept 2009 and officially became a tripawd (front leg) on Nov 5, 2009. She will be forever in my heart and now she's running free with all of our other tripawd heroes. I love you Mackenzie!
Oh and Carmen – I forgot to mention that it's 94 degrees here in sunny California……bring on the tan! 🙂

Damn. I've been found out. Now, I'm not speaking for Ge'Lena here because she's lovely, but yes, I'm the one they use for most of the BEFORE photos (BEFORE Botox and rhinoplasty and liposuction etc. etc. - you get it. Yeah. Yay me)

What IS it with the licking anyways? Riley only licks if there's a purpose; like, you have peanut butter on your finger and even then he only does it because he feels compelled to and it's the only way to get the peanut butter. Catie, now, once she gets going there's no stopping and, apparently, there doesn't have to be a reason either.

Gus has always been a licker also, I say he has a Gene Simmons tongue, for those of you who might not know who that is, he was one of the members of the rock group KISS, and his claim to fame was his tongue, supposedly it is six inches, but Gus' hangs to the ground in the summer amd gives you a bath when he gives you a kiss. I thought I was having a REALLY good dream one night, female gender involved, and I woke up to Gus licking my hand and arm. Story of my life, oh well, what do they say, if you don't have dreams you don't have anything. If 60 is the new 40, I better get some better flexibility in my knees and back, other wise I'll be an old man before I'm 50, of course I'm 52 now, but when I do the NEW math, I must really only be 32, which means I graduated in 1996, and my kids aren't even born yet, so who are these people that I'm always doing this free work for, holy moly, no wonder I never have any money, I'm not sending out bills!!!! Can't say I'm much of a cat person Diane, but my mom has 2, and they are her world, so hopefully you find one, or 2, why not get three, threes company, to keep the house active.

Yeah. Thanks for that too. We actually had lovely weather here this weekend. And trust me, when that happens, we Albertans engage in a flurry of activity (we had freaking SNOW last weekend).
We surge en masse to nurseries to buy our annuals and perennials in the hope we can plant them before July; we buy sun block hoping we have opportunity to need it; and we stock up on mosquito repellant because we KNOW at some point we will be using it. We obsess about the weather because it SO impacts our life. Sad really. They're starting up local chapters called Weather Watchers Anonymous for people like me who want to break the addiction.

Ok. Gus is WAY better looking than Gene Simmons. I saw that guy on American Idol last year and I had nightmares for a week.

Thats probably why they wore make-up, and Gus says thank you for the complement, he's got a little extra curl to his taill now. Wonder if Gus has a future in reality tv, although being that he is fixed, the family jewels title really doesn't fit!!!!

Diane - any luck?

Thank you Kami and Carmen- but I don't do beauty very well! I'm flawed, flawed, flawed! And what I haven't been able to fix thru plastic surgery, I've screwed up thru plastic surgery! No nose job but I did have a droopy eyelid (brow tsosis) until I fixed it. I won't talk about lipo - done it too many times to remember! If my dog hadn't died last year, you maybe could tell I had it done but the binge eating after his death fixed that!
When you grow up as the ugly duckling, you turn to humor. I want to be the funny one!
