I saw on Facebook that one of the Michael Vick dogs "Tacoma" is having one of its legs amputated today due to osteosarcoma. One of the other Vick dogs parents posted it. Let's all send some prayers out for him. With his rough start out in life and now this, I think he sure could use all the prayers he can get.
Rene, I invited posted a comment for them to check us out.
Here is the post "Handsome Dan's" parents posted about Tacoma:

Sally, I know you can't see FB posts so here you go:
Tomorrow is a really big day for many of us in the "Vicktory Dog Family". Tomorrow, Tacoma, brother to Vicktory Dog Halle and Friends, will have one of his front legs amputated due to cancer.
Tacoma is a special dog. He was adopted from Best Friends before his mama Traciadopted Halle, and later Jagger. Tacoma is a service dog and goes everywhere with Traci. You may remember my mama went to the Association of Professional Dog Trainer's Conference a couple of months ago with Traci and Tacoma came along.
Traci and my mama are very close, so this is an extremely big deal in our home tonight, as it is all the way over in Utah at Tacoma's home. To make things even more scary, Tacoma had an issue with his blood pressure the last time he was anesthetized. The surgery will take two to three hours but Tacoma will be closely monitored. Traci is a vet tech at the hospital where the surgery is being performed so she will be there the entire time, but not in the room.
Traci will call my mama during the surgery and the minute Tocama is awake so she can let everyone know how things went. But we know things will go smoothly and Tacoma will be just fine.
So tomorrow morning, at 9AM Mountain Time, please take a moment to send Tacoma and his surgical staff some good thoughts, love and maybe a prayer. Please also send some comforting thoughts to Traci tonight and tomorrow.
We love you so much Traci and Tacoma. We will be right there with you in spirit tomorrow.

Good luck big guy we are all pulling for you in Tripawd land. You sure have proved everyone wrong with your achievements. You will fight a great fight now Thinking of you during your surgery.

Our story: Broke rear leg in June 2013 - non-conclusive results for cancer so leg was plated and pinned. Enlarged spleen in September 2013 and had it removed and was diagnosed with Hemangiosarcoma and started chemotherapy. Became a Tripawd January 8th, 2014 and definitive Hemangiosarcoma diagnosis. Three major surgeries in 7 months and Shelby took them all like a champ only to lose her battle to cancer in her brain. We had 8 amazing extra months together and no regrets. #shelbystrong #loveofmylife
Since pit bulls are my heart, and the Vick dog survivors are my soft spot, here's wishing Tacoma and his family a speedy recovery and many happy years after.

Thanks for sharing Elizabeth, and spreading the word about Tripawds. We're absolutely sending healing thoughts and speedy recovery wishes to this very special survivor. As a Tripawd, Tacoma's therapy dog work will take on an even bigger role as he really shows others how to heal and overcome adversity, which I have no doubt he will do with all of the spunk and courage of a Pittie. I hope his people visit us here. Thanks again.

Our awesome Golden Boy was diagnosed for OSA in April 2014 in the proximal humerus, front-leg amp on 05/20/2014. Finished chemo (Carbo6) on 07/10/2014. Ongoing treatment: acupuncture + K-9 Immunity Plus ( 3chews) and home-cooked no-grain diet. Stopped Apocaps because of liver issues. Liver issues: controlling altered enzymes with SAM-e and Milk Thistle. October 17: started having seizures. Taking fenobarbital for seizures. April 18: started prednisone.
Any word on how Tacoma's surgery went? I hope all is well for this sweet boy and his family!! He is a beautiful boy and I hope his family joins Tripawds so we can follow Tacoma's journey!

May you finally be healthy and running free at the Rainbow Bridge. Until we meet again my sweet boy!
Here are the Victory dogs facebook pages last posts about Tacoma:
Handsome Dan: "Tacoma is out of surgery! Traci is laying with him as he wakes from the anesthesia! Woohoo! We love you Tacoma and Traci!"
Ray the Victory Dog: "We just received news that Tacoma is out of surgery. He did well and tolerated the anesthesia well. His mom Traci is sitting with him as he begins to wake up. He has our love and prayers for a full recovery."
If any of you have Facebook, a few of the dogs have their own pages. It melts my heart to see them, and how much they are loved.
