Oops! I meant to attribute that to Carol (about the april showers/may flowers). My brain is fried... Either way ... ready for May to bring some cheer for sure!

Shelby Lynne; Jack Russell/Shiba Inu mix. Proud member of the April Angels of 2014.

Our story: Broke rear leg in June 2013 - non-conclusive results for cancer so leg was plated and pinned. Enlarged spleen in September 2013 and had it removed and was diagnosed with Hemangiosarcoma and started chemotherapy. Became a Tripawd January 8th, 2014 and definitive Hemangiosarcoma diagnosis. Three major surgeries in 7 months and Shelby took them all like a champ only to lose her battle to cancer in her brain. We had 8 amazing extra months together and no regrets. #shelbystrong #loveofmylife

We've gotten so many great pictures and sweet stories already :) This is truly an honor to help memorialize these heroes! But... y'all keep trying to pay us! Seriously...we don't want to accept payment for this; it just seems so karmically wrong :) However, we will accept donated canvasses, or canvas boards. They are easily available on amazon; 16x20 typically runs under $10. Canvas boards are another great option; they ship easily (no chance at all of a poked hole!) and frame nicely. Plus, then you can pick whatever size you'd like. As far as shipping goes, he normally just uses his company's FedEx account, so reimbursing that is basically stealing ;)

Keep the pictures coming! It's nice to keep busy these days :)

edit---To Willow's mom: I LOVE the black and white preliminary sketch he did of her! I'm thinking of uploading it for you, so you can go to walgreens and have it made as a board print!

Oh, I would love to see the sketch. You'll have to explain to me what you mean about a board print...it's sounds intriguing but I don't know how to do that. I know, sad but true!

I also would like to donate some canvasses or canvas boards. Can you post links so we get the right ones?

Thank you!
Carol

I love that Saturday has always been Grady Day and now it's Jack Straw Day too, YAY!  I didn't know much about Grady's story so I read all the back posts and he just sounds like he was a ball of energy, a charmer and a true inspiration to other tripawds.  It doesn't hurt that he was also positively stinkin' ADORABLE!  While nothing will take away the pain of losing Grady, having another pup in the house definitely provides added comfort and lifts the spirits.  How can that be anything but healthy?  Do keep sharing, I'd love to see more pictures of both Grady and Jack Straw.

(Btw, I love that you buried Grady with his duck stuffy.  So sweet.)

Thank you again for the portrait offer.  I will definitely send pictures of my Jersey Girl as soon as I can.  She was my first pet ever and the love of my life; I miss her terribly.  My husband Gregg and I are getting ready to build a house and I'm finally getting my own office (we currently share which makes me a crazy person), my baby's portrait is the first thing I want to hang in there!  I can't wait!!   As I write this I'm thinking, it's probably selfish that I don't want to share the portrait with my husband.  Hmmm.  Maybe I'll change my mind when the time comes...although right now I don't think so.  Hehehe.

(P.S.  - the house is a year away, lots of time)

I know so little about art, other than what I like and don't like, even living with an artist, lol!

Most of the canvasses I found on Amazon are sold in 2 packs, but there are a few singles. I tried to find/link only the Amazon Prime ones (cause I know I use my 30-day free trial as often as I can! There is one going on now). These are all the 16x20 size, but by all means, if you'd rather a different size, go for it! I just find that 11x14 and 16x20 frame the nicest (and don't require a $200 trip to a framing gallery...that drives me nuts! Target has nice frames, too, y'all!) For the most part, anything sold (on Amazon) through Blick studios is great, as is the Winsor & Newton brand. I'll reply to the painting request emails with my address as they come in (not sending a canvas doesn't mean I won't send a painting, btw!!!)

qid=1398857303&sr=8-3&keywords=16x20+canvas  (This is a single)

qid=1398857303&sr=8-1&keywords=16x20+canvas (This is a 2 pack)

These next 2 are the panels:

ie=UTF8&qid=1398857411&sr=1-4&keywords=16x20+canvas+panel

qid=1398857360&sr=8-10&keywords=16x20+canvas+panel

Willow's Mom--we were spending CRAZY money having prints made at a local gallery/print place. I mean, we had to sell 5-6 of the same print just to make back the cost of having *1* made. Then we discovered a "secret" from some of the artists around town. A high-resolution camera, good lighting, and Walgreens (or the UPS store). You can take a GREAT picture of a painting or sketch, upload it to the photo center (or bring your usb stick to UPS store), and they'll do a poster print. Many stores also sell what we use, which is a "poster board". They look NO different from the expensive prints that we were paying through the nose for, and with a coupon code, they run about $15-20 for any size up to 20x30 ;) They're easy to sell, because it's hard to sell an original at $300 unless someone REALLY loves it, but you can always move prints at $30 or so, especially when you can have them done in any size!

So what I can do for all of the preliminary sketches (which are always just b&w) is just send you a jpg of it, and then you can have a print made if you'd like :)

I apologize for being slack with updates. We went up to the mountains and had NO SIGNAL (which was a blessing) for a few days, but I wanted to catch up!

Carol- Willow's painting is about done, and just drying. Just send us shipping info and we'll get it out as soon as we're sure it won't smear :) I will also get you those sketches...I just get freaked by the shed/studio this time of year cause I have a "bug issue". It's in my head, I know, but I still just avoid that place like the plague!!

Sassy and and Libby are being done simultaneously. From what I've seen of Sassy, my husband went with the giant grin photo, BUT with the beautiful light that was in the last picture. She's going to be a stunner! Libby is just...well, my hubby melted at those eyes, and who could blame him??

I know Shelby is on the list, and I think Jersey Girl (but I'm not sure if I got photo of her?). Honestly, organization is not my strong suit :) If I forgot anyone, PLEASE remind me, and I'll search back through my emails!!!

I apologize for not updating/answering emails and such the past few days! I've been away from my computer, and I can't seem to get links to format right on my phone, and opening attachments is iffy! But, it's Mother's Day, so IN THEORY, I should have a few hours today to get everything caught up! To anyone that I haven't replied to, I have not forgotten you, I just need to better organize, lol! I set up a separate folder in my email for just tripawd pictures now, so it will be easier for me to keep everyone sorted :)

Willow is finished, and dry, and ready to go! My husband will ship the sketch as well, because I'm simply in love with it on it's own :)

Sassy is also finished, but needs to dry for a week before a quick varnish, and then she'll be on her way,too :) Someone actually tried to buy her on Thursday,lol, so my husband now has another happy faced rottie to paint!

Bear in mind, our camera is not the greatest (as in, these were taken on iphone 4), and the paintings themselves are obviously crisper and clearer:

I think we have pics from: Libby (who has been started), Shelby, Jersey Girl, and Ty. Am I missing anyone? I will get all pictures downloaded and forwarded (or reforwarded, in some cases!) to my husband now that I've got this under control. Or as under control as I can get, hehe...I laugh cause he's flaky, but I certainly have my own scattered moments ;)
