I've been having a rough couple of days, and I finally figured out what part of the problem is....it was a year ago at this time, that the definite diagnosis of cancer came in for Polly. The exact date was two days ago, on the 20th of March, but I guess while my sub-conscience remembered the dates, my conscience chose to ignor it. I knew in my heart already last year, when I found the very scary tumor on Polly's front leg in early January, that this was gonna be some type of cancer we were going to have to deal with. You sometimes "just know"...... However, with all that has happened this past year or more, I can look back and positively say, that my girl had many, many more good and happy days than bad ones. And I can also positively say, that while this particular type of awful cancer, hemangiosarcoma, may have taken her from me, we were able to kick the crap out of a 1-3 month diagnosis without chemo, and 4-6 with chemo....from my point of view, from the time I found this evil cancer, till the time I lost Polly, it was 13 months and counting. Yay, Polly !!!!
Awww, what a beautiful picture. She absolutely had many more good days than bad. How could she not? She was loved and adored by her pack.
She absolutely kicked the crap outta that cancer. Thirteen more months of playing, cuddling and just being together. Well done, Polly.
Hugs to you,
Amy & Spirit Libby
Liberty (Libby) was diagnosed with OSA on 1-22-13. Right front amputation on 1-31-13. No IV Chemo. Metronomic Therapy started 2-19-13 along with supplements and some home cooking. Lungs clear until 1-06-14. She's still her happy, hoppy, bossy self. Living the dog life to the fullest and a proud Winter Warrior. :) RIP my Libby 4-21-03 to 3-19-14
That is a beautiful photo!!!! I know how you feel... in my heart, I have known since Shelby broke her leg back in June that something was wrong and as much as I deny it (because we didn't see any cancer then) but I refused to believe it and looked for signs that she was doing well because she puts on such a brave face for me - all the time - like Polly!
Sending you lots of love today!!! She definitely beat those odds!

Our story: Broke rear leg in June 2013 - non-conclusive results for cancer so leg was plated and pinned. Enlarged spleen in September 2013 and had it removed and was diagnosed with Hemangiosarcoma and started chemotherapy. Became a Tripawd January 8th, 2014 and definitive Hemangiosarcoma diagnosis. Three major surgeries in 7 months and Shelby took them all like a champ only to lose her battle to cancer in her brain. We had 8 amazing extra months together and no regrets. #shelbystrong #loveofmylife

I love this picture of Polly. 13 months is awesome. Beat all those stats to the ground. One day there will be a cure for cancer I know it in my heart.

Hi Bonnie
What a beautiful photo of you and Polly!
What a victory to celebrate.....13 months of beating this horrible disease..... but no wonder these have been a couple of rough days for you.
Hope the celebration of this important victory will eventually give you some peace.
Hugs

Bonnie,
That is such a beautiful picture...there was so much love showing there.
I didn't realize that Polly was diagnosed over a year ago. She did beat the odds!
Please remember that you're still grieving, and it's normal to feel sadder some days than others. Yes, subconsciously the date may have triggered something, but your feelings would still be normal even they didn't coincide with the date. Don't be upset with yourself for feeling sad! We all understand!
With love,
Carol
Thanks to everyone for the continuing, loving support......some days, I just don't know what I would do, if I didn't have all of you to share these things with. Other than my hubby and daughter, just no one else to understand what we all understand with each other, here.
I love this pic as well, it is one of my favorites......my husband took several pics this particular day, which was the day before her amp surgery back in early October. I have a couple really nice photos, that I played with and turned some into black and white......they turned out very well. I will probably post a few more along the way.
Much love to you all......
