To those of you who have been with me through JD's diagnosis, surgery, chemo and tragic accident, anf my grief process I am here to share good news.
The night before Thanksgiving, one year old Shep mix Maya and seven year old Chow-Shep mix Serena, both quad-paws, came to live with me. I had been searching shelters and rescues for a few weeks and these two found me. My heart still aches and tears well in my eyes when I remember my sweet JD, but creating a new family just feels right now.
If you would like to see photos of my new girls I will post on JD's Blog- hopefully with her blessing. I asked her to help me heal and guide me to the right fur-children who needed a home forever.
Again thanks for all the love and support- I will still be around, but these two are quite a handful! Not that I am complaining!

Oh, I'm so happy for you! I don't think that we decide when the time is right to add furkids to the family. When the time is right, it just happens. I feel that Sadie sent Ranger to us. It may have seemed too soon to some people, but it was perfect for us. In the past, we've waited longer, you just can't predict how long it will take. I can't wait to see the pictures and hear the stories!
Ranger, Athena, and Spirit Sadie's mom
Sadie is my 9yr old Rott/Shepherd mix. Diagnosed with osteosarcoma in her right scapula 1/28/10. Our brave girl had her amputation 2/13/10 and her last chemotherapy on 6/6/10. Unfortunately, a tumor appeared in her back right leg and on 10/7/2010 Sadie's earthly journey came to an end. On 10/24/2010 we adopted Ranger, a handsome Rott/Lab mix tripawd (got hit by a car) I think Sadie sent him to us.

Cogratulations JDS mom!! we are so happy for you! Spirit Sadies mom is right I think , we dont decide it just happens and the right dog gets the right family. I dont think there is a doubt in the world that Spirit Sadie gives her wholehearted approval! She will always reside in your heart - you will never forget her! and there is awlays room enough in our heart for more furkids when the time is right! This is just such great news!!

Chloe became a rear amp tripawd on 7-29-10. Another tumor was removed on front leg 2-20-14. Found 3rd tumor on neck 2-2015, but she's still kicking cancer's butt at age 14. Chloe's blog
I am so happy for you that Serena and Maya found you!! So wonderful!! I'm sure JD had everything to do with this and you will feel her love and presence through them. I remember when we lost our other beloved dog to lymphoma and a month later, Mackenzie entered my life and my heart. It was the best prescription anyone could have ever given me to help me with my pain and loss. Can't wait to see pictures and hear about your new adventures!
Kami, Mackenzie and Kobe
My sweet golden Mackenzie. She became my angel on Dec 29, 2010 at the age of 8 1/2 although she was always my angel from the time we brought her home. She was diagnosed with osteosarcoma in Sept 2009 and officially became a tripawd (front leg) on Nov 5, 2009. She will be forever in my heart and now she's running free with all of our other tripawd heroes. I love you Mackenzie!
Congrats on the two new additions to your family. I am sure those two beautiful girls will help to fill that hole in your heart and that will be with JD's blessing.
