So I've been MIA for a while around here, but I had to come back to share the result of my almost 5 hours of pain yesterday to immortalize my little punkin bear!!! Well, actually, he's already immortal as he is permantly invisible, but now he can go with me everywhere!!! I'll explain it: The text is "dum spiro spero" which is our family motto meaning "as I am breathing, I am hoping" which is quite fitting for those of us with cancer dogs. Then "spero" kinda ties in with Captn. Jack Sparrow for whom Jackers was named, so I have the swallow that captain jack has tattooed on his arm. And the flowers are forget-me-nots (pretty self explanatory). Just wanted to share!!! Even though I don't really post, I still do read what's going on around here 🙂 Best wishes to everyone!!!

That is awesome, Laura! I love the colors, and the symbols - you couldn't have done better.
Invisible Jack is beaming down on you!

That is really special!
Comet - 1999 to 2011
She departed us unexpectedly January 23, 2011 at the age of 12 1/2.
She was born with a deformed front leg and a tripawd all of her life.
Sweet! You are much braver than me!!!
-Chloe's mom
Chloe became a rear amp tripawd on 7-29-10. Another tumor was removed on front leg 2-20-14. Found 3rd tumor on neck 2-2015, but she's still kicking cancer's butt at age 14. Chloe's blog
Wow, that's great! I hope I can come up with something that special and symbolic. I had a feeling you were still around...just invisible.
Sadie is my 9yr old Rott/Shepherd mix. Diagnosed with osteosarcoma in her right scapula 1/28/10. Our brave girl had her amputation 2/13/10 and her last chemotherapy on 6/6/10. Unfortunately, a tumor appeared in her back right leg and on 10/7/2010 Sadie's earthly journey came to an end. On 10/24/2010 we adopted Ranger, a handsome Rott/Lab mix tripawd (got hit by a car) I think Sadie sent him to us.

Love it ! Thanks for sharing, Laura.
I, too, am working on a design, and collecting ideas.

"Going Dog" def: living every day in the moment
"It came to me that every time I lose a dog they take a piece of my heart with them. And every new dog who comes into my life gifts me with a piece of their heart. If I live long enough, all the components of my heart will be dog, and I will become as generous and loving as they are."
–Unknown
That is really a great family motto! I like how it looks!
Here is to spirit Jackers!

I couldn't begin to say how special Sammy is to us. Living and laughing with and loving this wonderful boy is priceless.
five hours is a lot of time in the chair - it looks GREAT!! the 'tripawd tat' club is grown. job well done.
charon & gayle
Life is good, so very, very good!!! Gayle enjoyed each and every moment of each and every wonderful day (naps included). She left this world December 12, 2011 – off on a new adventure.
Love Never Ends
Beautiful - Jackers would be proud. 5 hours - wow!! I got one tattoo - in the same spot as yours - years ago. It took about 20 minutes (a very small tattoo) and my sister said I screamed like a little girl the entire time.
I have been thinking about getting another one though, for Ginger. I am thinking about having her paw re-created on my foot, right foot since she lost her right back leg.
If others gets ideas - would love to hear them. I may have to have some liquid courage before hand if I actually decide to do it!!
Annie
Oh I love it! What a great way to honor the Captain.
