COLE MACFARLAND .made news in the world of animal lovers back in 1985 when he saved the life of his dog from an oncoinb train. Cole lost his leg in the heroic endeavor. I had the privilege of meeting him at a animal welfare/rights .eeting years ago.
He has subsequently gone to The Rainbow Bridge to be with all the pack he lpved dhring his time in earth.
I ran across something that made me think about him. And that made me do some googling so I coukd share this enlightened soul with you.

WOW.. that's amazing ... thank you for sharing.
I always said I would have taken a bullet to save Shelby ... people thought I was crazy (just a dog) but I would have. In a heartbeat. In fact, I would have taken her cancer and amputation if it could have saved her the grief and the pain but I know it was her journey to live and I was just along for the ride to help me learn about grief and loss as a more 'adult' (vs the pain of losing a parent at 22) and to prepare me for this next journey I am living with her spirit guiding me. Brave soul that girl...
Hugs and love!

Our story: Broke rear leg in June 2013 - non-conclusive results for cancer so leg was plated and pinned. Enlarged spleen in September 2013 and had it removed and was diagnosed with Hemangiosarcoma and started chemotherapy. Became a Tripawd January 8th, 2014 and definitive Hemangiosarcoma diagnosis. Three major surgeries in 7 months and Shelby took them all like a champ only to lose her battle to cancer in her brain. We had 8 amazing extra months together and no regrets. #shelbystrong #loveofmylife
