Hi,
Our German Shepherd, Tank has cancer, and is a recent amputee. We are looking for a Rottweiler puppy to bring into the household while Tank is still active enough, and to hopefully ease the loss of Tank on our other 2 dogs once the time comes.
The surgery for Tank's amputation and all the medical bills surrounding that surgery have left us seriously strapped for cash. The breeders around here are asking $1800-$3500 for an AKC Rottweiler. We have been rejected by most of the local adoption agencies because the new puppy would technically be our 4th dog. They refuse to take into consideration the eventual loss of one of our current dogs. We have been unsuccessful finding any local reasonably priced Rottweilers. We have even been finding many ads for puppies to be total scams and blatant attempts to steal money in exchange for invisible dogs!
Tank is our son's dog, my son is 22 and lives with us. He is very fine and capable person who leads a very physically active lifestyle and he intends to include the new puppy 100% in his very full life. My son has always wanted a Rottweiler so I am trying to fulfill his request.
I am hoping someone out there knows of someone near here that may have an affordable Rottweiler puppy. We are willing to pay for it, but I just need it closer to $500 if possible. I can offer references if needed and I have been blogging on this site about Tank, his blog is titled "Tank's Journey" if anyone should be interested in our background.
Thank you so much for your help!
Lisa

Hi Lisa. I found this posting on the Tripawds Facebook Page . I don't know if your son is set on a puppy; this guy is 2 years old and a tripawd.

Good luck in your search!
Aww, Taz is such a cutie. He looks a lot like Ranger!
Sadie is my 9yr old Rott/Shepherd mix. Diagnosed with osteosarcoma in her right scapula 1/28/10. Our brave girl had her amputation 2/13/10 and her last chemotherapy on 6/6/10. Unfortunately, a tumor appeared in her back right leg and on 10/7/2010 Sadie's earthly journey came to an end. On 10/24/2010 we adopted Ranger, a handsome Rott/Lab mix tripawd (got hit by a car) I think Sadie sent him to us.
