I was going through some old computer files earlier today and came across this relic from a simpler time – specifically, February of 2010. We'd just adopted a cute, pudgy, harmless little puppy. We kept the name he had from the shelter, even though we thought "Bernie" was sort of a silly name for a dog. He seemed so perfect, so innocent. Linda poisonously loathed him for a week and wouldn't have anything to do with him. Then she seemed to surrender to the inevitable and decided to become his friend. This video was taken a week or two after that.
In retrospect, the signs of bin Ladenism are all there. The relentless refusal to give up and leave Linda alone, no matter how often she swats him away or squashes him with her head. Preventing her escape with repeated assaults, including walking underneath Linda to bite her in the belly until he annoys her into paying attention to him. She tries to distract him with a toy. It doesn't work. He's zeroed in on her as a target, and there's just no hope after that. These are Linda's last days of innocence – the last time she'll be able to squash Bernie into submission. The last time she'll ever win an argument with him or get her own way about anything. The rise of Bernie bin Laden has begun…
OMD!!!!! He's so cute! But there are definitely signs of the future terrorist in that video.

cute, cute, cute!!! our new sister, 'felony melanie', has taken on the same pestering behavior with squirrel boy sam... we think bernie bin laden and felony melanie would create nuclear fusion if they ever met (or maybe fission...)
charon & spirit gayle
Life is good, so very, very good!!! Gayle enjoyed each and every moment of each and every wonderful day (naps included). She left this world December 12, 2011 – off on a new adventure.
Love Never Ends
Cute, cute. The little terrorist in training!
Linda must have the patience of a saint. 🙂
Abby: Aug 1, 2009 – Jan 10, 2012. Our beautiful rescue pup lived LARGE with osteosarcoma for 15 months – half her way-too-short life. I think our "halflistic" approach (mixing traditional meds + supplements) helped her thrive. (PM me for details. I'm happy to help.) She had lung mets for over a year. They took her from us in the end, but they cannot take her spirit! She will live forever in our hearts. She loved the beach and giving kisses and going to In-N-Out for a Flying Dutchman. Tripawds blog, and a more detailed blog here. Please also check out my novel, What the Dog Ate. Now also in paperback! Purchase it at Amazon via Tripawds and help support Tripawds!
I'd like to add Eradicator Emmi in the mix. OMD, what were we all thinking getting a P U P P Y?!
You have to admit, Bernie is a cutie patootie.
Shanna & Spirit Trouble ~ Trouble gained her wings 3/16/2011, a 27 1/2 month cancer survivor, tail wagging. RIP sweetheart, you are my heart and soul. Run free at Rainbow Bridge.
The November Five - Spirits Max, Cherry, Tika, Trouble & Nova. 11/2008 - 3/2013 An era ends as Queen Nova crossed the Bridge.
OMD I can't believe that's the same BBL, he was so squishy and sweet!
Has it really been two years? It's amazing how a terrorist can grow up and wreak havoc in just 24 months.

I can see how you were totally taken in by the charming little shister, he is cute incarnate! Poor Linda, like all great saints she is earning her status 🙂
