Thanks to the efforts of Lisa Scarsi (lscarsi on these forums), our favorite pet photographer, our favorite English Lab and Bernie bin Laden's favorite chew toy Linda is now gracing the front cover of Coast magazine. It's an Orange County lifestyle magazine that publishes a pet adoption section every December. They asked Lisa to send them a sampling of pictures of adopted dogs she'd photographed in the past, and Linda's was the one Coast magazine picked! Aside from being happy that our girl got a front cover, we're even more happy for Lisa, whose skill as a pet photographer has definitely earned her whatever publicity this will bring her. After all, she's the one who managed to make Bernie bin Laden look socially presentable.
For those who haven't been victimized by the experience of meeting our dogs in person, the expression on Linda's face is NOT one of cuteness or sweetness. It's the look she gets when she's latched onto something and stolen it (preferably socks, but Santa hats will do in a pinch), and she's waiting to see if someone will lunge at her to get it back, thus kicking off a chase. About a second after this photo was taken, she bolted across Lisa's studio hoping someone would come after her.
Congratulations to you, Linda, and Lisa. Nice to have a cover girl in the family! It is a beautiful photo, even though we now know Linda is not being sweet! Our Tom has a very similar look (although he's usually got one of the kids' toys in his mouth)
Scout: January 31, 2002 to November 7, 2011
Scout's diagnosis was "poorly differentiated sarcoma"; amputation 1/11/2011. Scout enjoyed 9 fantastic years on 4 legs and 9 glorious months on 3 legs. If love alone could have saved you…
OMG, that is awesome. She really does do great work. Linda looks beautiful as ever!
Shanna & Spirit Trouble ~ Trouble gained her wings 3/16/2011, a 27 1/2 month cancer survivor, tail wagging. RIP sweetheart, you are my heart and soul. Run free at Rainbow Bridge.

WOW! That is a GREAT pic, it kinda reminds me of an old Marlene Dietricht photo or something like that. How COOL! Lisa really does amazing work, we just might have to meet up with her while we are there. Dog knows what she can do for Wyatt!

Indeed, Linda looks pawsitively angelic and squeaky-clean! In my mind, I see Bernie 5 feet off the ground about to land on her. Maybe I've watched too many of your videos! Congratulations, Linda dahling!

From abandoned puppy to Tripawd Warrior Dude, Dakota became one of the 2011 February Furballs due to STS. Our incredibly sweet friend lived with grace and dignity till he impulsively raced over the Bridge on 12-15-12.

That really is a beautiful picture. Her eyes are amazing!
Zeus was a Husky mix diagnosed with Osteosarcoma at age 11. A visible lung met and suspicious spot on his liver meant a poor prognosis-six weeks was our vet's best guess. We decided to fight for our boy and his right front leg was amputated on 12/1/11. We did six rounds of chemo, changed his diet and spoiled him completely rotten. We were blessed with 10 great months after diagnosis. Against the odds, the lung met remained a single met and grew very little over those months. A wonderful furbaby with the most gentle spirit, he fought with a strength that we never imagined he possessed. We have no regrets...

That is AWESOME! Linda looks gorgeous! And angelic, lol
Wookie had his photos taken by Lisa last night, she really is awesome. I can't wait to see the proofs!
Right hind limb amputated 7/3/12 for OSA, started on alternating cycles of Carboplatin and Doxorubicin and oral Palladia. Single lung met 9/1. Met in the neck muscle removed 9/30. Large mass in sublumbar lymph node 10/2. Rescue chemo with ifosfamide 10/6. Mets to the rib and axillary lymph node 10/21. Started Leukeran and Pred 10/25. Wookie left this Earth for a far better place on 12/4/12. I miss you, Boo, you were my heart.
Linda is the angel. Brother Bernie is the scamp!
Loved the visual Dakota Dawg suggested. For any of you who haven't seen any of the Bernie Bin Laden stories, do a search and prepare to laugh. Dad is quite the story teller.

Abby: Aug 1, 2009 – Jan 10, 2012. Our beautiful rescue pup lived LARGE with osteosarcoma for 15 months – half her way-too-short life. I think our "halflistic" approach (mixing traditional meds + supplements) helped her thrive. (PM me for details. I'm happy to help.) She had lung mets for over a year. They took her from us in the end, but they cannot take her spirit! She will live forever in our hearts. She loved the beach and giving kisses and going to In-N-Out for a Flying Dutchman. Tripawds blog, and a more detailed blog here. Please also check out my novel, What the Dog Ate. Now also in paperback! Purchase it at Amazon via Tripawds and help support Tripawds!
Beautiful picture of a beautiful dog!
