Hello all. It's been a while since I posted, but my wife Diane (aka Maximutt) insisted on sharing this story, and since I'm the one who knows how to add photo links to posts, I got volunteered to do it. So here goes:
I’m assuming everyone's familiar with the 365 Page-a-day calendars many people keep on their desks. They’re the little square ones with a photo and some text for each day of the year, and you tear off the days/pages as you go. They have them for just about every subject, but today we’re going to discuss the most important one - dogs.
Each year, the calendars have an entry form page in the front with directions for sending your own photos for consideration to be in next year’s calendar. Back in 2013, Di informed (not asked, but informed) me that I would be submitting photos of Bernie and Linda, so I picked one of each and sent them off. We didn’t hear anything for months, so I figured we didn't make the final cut. After all, this is a bestselling calendar, and people send tens of thousands of photos in every year. But then the publisher sent word that Linda’s portrait would be in the 2015 edition!
Then yesterday, as Di was at work getting her 2015 desk calendar set up, someone asked her for the entry form page so they could send in their own dog's picture. She tore out the form to hand it to them, and got the shock of her life when she saw what was beneath it on the page for January 1, 2015. Nobody had told us about that, and it never occurred to us to look at any of the other pages after we found Linda’s photo.
So, as is typical for our little menace to society, Bernie bin Laden managed to sneak past both us and the Page-a-Day proofreaders who are supposed to make sure two dogs from the same house don’t get included in the same year. Never one to worry about trivialities like rules or fairness, our little blot on civilization now infests the first page of 2015 like a wily virus that blindsides you when you least expect it. Now tens of thousands of people will start the year off with a photo that, less than half a second after it was taken, resulted in blunt force impact trauma to my head, a set of claw marks that made my chest and stomach look like a game of tic-tac-toe, and a fortunately waterproof camera that had to be fished from the bottom of the pool once my vision cleared and my head stopped ringing. Leave it to BBL to get first prize for assault and battery. Happy new year!
Woohoo! Congratulations Bernie and Linda!!!!! We knew you were winners all along......

That picture of Bernie is fantastic. What a great action shot, even if it resulted in trauma immediately following. I love it.
Karma, Adelaide and the crew, and our special angel Brendol
Adelaide is a young tripawd Husky, from an injury. Her amp was on 10/1/12. She has 4 sisters, Aissa (a senior border collie/chow), Maggie May (a puppy Great Pyrenees), Mathilde and Morrigan and 1 baby brother, Bagheera. We are all watched over by our angel Brendol, who was dx with OSA 1/30/13, amp on 2/6/13, and left us on 8/20/13.

John, glad Di convinced you to share. Bernie and Linda are just too awesome. Not quite as awesome as Max, but awesome in their own right.
