Hi everypawdy,

I'm posting this on behalf of a behind-the-scenes Tripawds member who asks:

I was wondering if you know of a legit website where I can register my new baby Brandy as an emotional support animal (for clinically diagnosed severe depression)?

There are so many websites but you never know about how legit they are. They may take my money and then give me some kind of registration that's not worth a hoot!

Any leads are greatly appreciated. Thanks so much!

Rene,

I know Alison did this with JL.  I am not sure what website let me check with my trainer to see if she knows of one we were talking about it when Snickers started Therapy training and the differences between service dogs & Therapy dogs.  I know it probably will take a Dr note of some kind.  It might be tomorrow before I find out.

Here is the website we talked about.  It does require a note from the DR.

Hi, yes, Jasper is a registered ESA (emotional service dog). Feel free to tell this member to reach out to me if she/he wants more info. It is definitely different than a service dog and most ESA dogs are still not allowed in grocery stores, restaurants, etc but hotels must take them AND she flies with me for free (she does fit under the seat but if she did not, she would be allowed to fly with me).

I went to an actual place here in Los Angeles to get a certificate. I met with a doctor (without JL) and got a form. I have to have it renewed annually. I think you can do it online but you most definitely would need a doctor's note.

Hope this helps! Jasper truly does serve as a support animal for me on more levels than I ever thought when I had her certified. I cannot imagine not having her by my side as her presence does calm me.

Our story: Broke rear leg in June 2013 - non-conclusive results for cancer so leg was plated and pinned. Enlarged spleen in September 2013 and had it removed and was diagnosed with Hemangiosarcoma and started chemotherapy. Became a Tripawd January 8th, 2014 and definitive Hemangiosarcoma diagnosis. Three major surgeries in 7 months and Shelby took them all like a champ only to lose her battle to cancer in her brain. We had 8 amazing extra months together and no regrets. #shelbystrong #loveofmylife
