Feel free to add on and let's see where this goes. Don't hold anything back, folks. That wouldn't be fair.
"You know you're appreciated when..." you're mixing up the Honest Kitchen at the sink and feel a sloppy tongue licking your knee. Smiling, you look down expecting to see an adoring face thanking you for dinner, but instead you're being licked and air-humped at the same time.
Now it's your turn!

From abandoned puppy to Tripawd Warrior Dude, Dakota became one of the 2011 February Furballs due to STS. Our incredibly sweet friend lived with grace and dignity till he impulsively raced over the Bridge on 12-15-12.

Too funny! Ours has to do with gas too... Finchy can clear a room! Or here's one Buster has the ability to thrust his nose into your unopened mouth while you are sleeping to remind you that he is there (just in case you may have forgotten him during the night).
Diagnosed with OSA: 5/2/2011 Ampuversary: 5/11/2011 OSA returned in hip: 8/26/2011
Chili Dawg crossed the Rainbow Bridge on 8/30/2011 & is now pain free. He was my heart dog, and I miss him every day.
You are a good citizen, proudly showing the neighborhood what good dogs you have and respectfully adhering to all "feces removal" laws. You scoop up the "package" your dog has just deposited, only to discover...there is a hole in the bag. And you are no where near a sink.
Hahahaha!
OK, you know you're appreciated when . . .
Your dog licks your face all over. You think he's showing how much he loves you . . . but oh no! you suddenly realize that what he's really doing is bathing you with the slobber left over from licking his butt!

You know you are appreciated when:
After several failed dog bed purchases aimed at keeping Obie off the furniture at Grandpa's house you buy a special $70 bed made for insecure dogs. Grandpa reports that Obie loves his new bed. Yea!
Only to find out that Grandpa means Obie loves his new bed in a boy friend-girl friend way!
Hahahahaha!!! A blow-up dolly dog bed! I love it! I wish I could see this magnificent, expensive companion. Do you have a link? And what a great guy Grandpa is to be so creative in his description! Oh this was great! Thanks Karen!

When my dogs start cuddling up, staring adoringly at me, and I am basking in the loving relationship we have when I look at the clock and realize that it's ten minutes after 5 and their dinner is... GASP!... ten minutes late!! And I here I am thinking their love for me is unconditional...
Thankfully MBBunny Rita is not a humper or a farter. She also doesn't give kisses, so... I don't really have any stories that compare.
One thing she does is follow the hubster down the hall and he'll think 'Oh, that's nice, she wants to be with me." But then she veers off when they go past the pantry in the hallway (where all her treats are stashed). She acts like, "Oh, I just thought... you know... since we're here..."
Abby: Aug 1, 2009 – Jan 10, 2012. Our beautiful rescue pup lived LARGE with osteosarcoma for 15 months – half her way-too-short life. I think our "halflistic" approach (mixing traditional meds + supplements) helped her thrive. (PM me for details. I'm happy to help.) She had lung mets for over a year. They took her from us in the end, but they cannot take her spirit! She will live forever in our hearts. She loved the beach and giving kisses and going to In-N-Out for a Flying Dutchman. Tripawds blog, and a more detailed blog here. Please also check out my novel, What the Dog Ate. Now also in paperback! Purchase it at Amazon via Tripawds and help support Tripawds!
Magnum: 30th May 2002 to 5th May 2012. Lost her back left leg to osteosarcoma on 5th Sep 2011. Lung mets found on 20th Mar 2012 but it was bone mets in the hip that ended her brave battle. Magnum's motto - "Dream as if you'll live for ever, live as if you'll die today" (James Dean). Loyal, loving, courageous and spirited to the end. My beloved heart dog, see her memoirs from Rainbow Bridge ...... http://princess.....pawds.com/
