Izzy heard a rumor that someone in Tripawd land was missing her fashion tips. Well, since her eejit momma has finally gotten Photobucket working again, she decided now is as good a time as any to share.
Having gracefully - of course - fallen down the entire flight of stairs on Easter morning, I am especially glad to have such an expert at Convalescent Style right here, living in my home. In fact, Izzy was quite keen to supervise my recovery ... or at least the parts that involved me laying on the couch, taking my "pain pills" ... commonly known as Peanut m&ms. Behold, exhibits A and B:
Notice not only the Easter blanket, shown here covering the bruised and battered left shin but the color coordination between bunnies, toenails and broken toe. All in the blue-purple palette.
Momma mustn't overdose. I will watch closely.
Indeed, supervision of pain meds involved heavy drooling, leading to a wardrobe change. Because momma is a sucker, Izzy got a treat from the Easter baskets as well ...
Blurry, but point made. Easter collar coordinates perfectly with shade of peep. Mission:Accomplished
When convalescing gets tough, the tough find a soft bed and cover their head. And look damn good doing it.
However, some days go better than others ...
Remember, just because you're feeling poorly and taking handfuls of pills at every meal doesn't mean your momma can't put it in a pretty bowl and serve you in bed. In fact, one should demand nothing less!
Moral support is also vital. Get your squad on board. Convalescing in style isn't just for the afflicted, after all.
And of course, the most important part ... the reason for it all ... if you can't feel good, you might as well look good doing it. It's like the old song says, "Smile though your heart (toe/leg/foot) is aching. Smile even tho' it's breaking. When there are cancers in your eye, you'll get by. If you smile through your fear and sorrow, smile and maybe tomorrow you'll get another peep." Or ... something like that. 😉
SMILE!
Hope you enjoyed the photo stockpile. 🙂 Izzy and I really did fall down the stairs. I was carrying her ... about 20 stitches later, my chin was put back together and I am still black and blue ... well, yellow & brown now (how banana-like) ... but Izzy had just one scratch. I somehow managed to hold on to her and avoid crushing her/breaking any of her remaining limbs.
Momma to the world's most beautiful American Bulldog, Izzy!! Lost her front leg to OSA 9/18/15. Diagnosed w MCT in June 2016. Celebrated her 1 year ampuversary with knee surgery on 9/18/16! MCT recurrence in Dec 2016. Happy & hungry til nearly 14, earning her wings on 7/31/17.
OHHHHH MYYYYY GOODNESS!!!! What a post this is!! WOW!!
You really are black and blue Amy! And stitches too!! OWWEEE! And our sweet Izzy barely had a scratch!! Good job Mom! But I must say, Miss Izzy has taught you how to color coordinate things with your blue bruises quite well!!
Now, back to the other great photos that have no stitches and no bruises!
Clearly Izzy had a great Easter and was the best dressed doggy in the Easter Parade! 🙂
Shades of peep!! LOL!!! And the Easter blankets are precious! The blue toes add to the attire!
I just love seeing pictures of Izzy! 🙂 The one of her making sure you don't overdose....the one checking out her Easter Bunny card...the one having her "breakfast of champions" in her bed....this dog is SOOO ADORABLE!!! If she doesn't feel good, you sure wouldn't know it by these sweet pictures.
And Amy, as far as the SMILE song...well..."A" for effort! 🙂
And girls, convalescing or not, stitches or not, you both are looking good! 🙂
Thanks for the great pictoral update starring one of the most beloved fashionistas ever!!! 🙂 🙂 🙂 Big ole' grin on my face!
And to show my solidarity, I shall eat a bag of Peanut M&Ms!!! YUM!
Love and hugs to all!!
Sally and Alumni Happy Hannah and Merry Myrtle and Frankie too!
Happy Hannah had a glorious additional bonus time of over one yr & two months after amp for osteo! She made me laugh everyday! Joined April's Angels after send off meal of steak, ice cream, M&Ms & deer poop!
Izzy!!!
Manni indeed needs all the fashion tips he can get. He last bought a new collar that didn't really match anything about 4 years ago
see, Izzy, Manni is such a typical male he just doesn't give anything about fashion. -can you believe it??? So yes, we do. need help. I have though about covering his Oompa Loompas with stylish pants or add expanders? What do you think??
And Izzy: good thing your mom protected you sooooo well during that horrible horrible fall!! So yes, you better watch over her convalescence !! Having to get stitches is no fun!
Dr. Izzy, thank you for your support with all things fashion-we would be dorkier without you!! (We're still dorks, Manni and I, but at least thanks to you we look good!! 😊)
and I Love Love Love your Song, by the way. Trying to stick to the wisdom in that. 😘
Anyway Izzy, watch over mom and to a speedy , yet fashionable recovery!!!
All the best
your friend Manni🐾🐶👑💕💖

Osteo and amputation in Dec 2015. Second, inoperable, primary osteosarcoma found in June 2017.
The end of our adventures came Dec 10, 2017. 2 years to the day.
I just love your Izzy pictures. She looks happy, which is all that matters. So sorry about your fall, but you protected your dog. A broken toe and a scar seem a small price to pay. . .kidding, hope you feel better soon.
Otis - 106 pound lab/Dane mix, lost his right front leg to osteosarcoma on Febuary 9, 2016. Four rounds of carboplatin completed in April, 2016. Lung mets August 25, 2016. Said goodbye too soon on September 4, 2016. Lost his adopted sister, Tess, suddenly on October 9, 2016. likely due to hemangiosarcoma.
Wherever they are, they are together.
My goodness Amy and Izzy 😳😳
What a fall that was 💥
Eurydice now expects me to hold her too if we ever fall down the stairs 🤔🙄
How you managed to get sweet Izzy ok ... only a fantastic Momma like your lovely self could achieve that ...
Twenty stitches 😬😬😬
Arghhhhhhhh 😱
I am also sporting a 17 stitches scar on my forehead but my situation was ... ahm ... a bit more unusual as I fell UP the stairs holding Eurydice's bowl ...
My foot slipped and I landed full on on the edge of one of the steps 🕳⛏⛏⛏
Going back to Miss Izzy she is the Queen of Fashion alright 👑👚👘👒👛
What a treat to see all those pictures and the colour coordination is second to none 👌🏽
You are both the greatest kiddos 💝💝
Hope you get well soon, sending you a tornado 🌪 of hugs 💕💕💕and zillion cuddles to Miss Top Model there 💃🏽

Oh no, Teresa!! We can be scar twins! And tell everyone we got in a fight!
Don't worry, if anything could drive the point home that my next house needs to be just one story, well, falling down the stairs did it. Life would be a whole lot easier for Izzy and I that way!
I got my stitches removed last Friday - 5 days after getting them. They said it would help minimize scarring. Aside from the chin bruise, it's looking good! I realize now that I'm posting this photo that I wear my U of Salamanca shirt a whole lot lol Oh well. Izzy forgives my lack of fashion.

🤣Tina, your point is taken 🤣
No need for any other pawrent to follow mine and Amy's trend 😑
Amy, how come they removed your stitches so early 🤔
Mine stayed for 10 days and then I had to cover the scar for months with a thick lawyer of sunscreen to avoid having the area highlighted (white) for ever 😶
I tell'a girl, the best "story" was telling the truth in my case ... who falls going upstairs anyway 🙄😬😈

Teresa, they took the stitches out on the 5th day to minimize the chance of a "railroad" scar ... with the dots on either side of the line. I had them removed at the plastic surgeon's office and they glued a steri-strip in place to support the skin for a few days. (Had there been a plastic surgeon in the ER, they likely would have just glued it to start)
I've got a history of keloid scars, so we'll have to see how this thing heals. I wear sunblock every day on my face, so hopefully, it won't be too crazy!

Ah ... got it.
At least your scar sort of "goes along" your chin line so it "naturally" blends in, if you know what I mean ...
Mine was an irregular shape but the surgeon did such a great job it looks like a "natural" line ...
I suppose there is at least this one advantage of being older and having more lines on my forehead 🙈 so this one blends in 🐵
Right Amy, let's try and keep in one piece from now on, hey?
Lots of kisses and cuddles flying your way, sugar pie and woof woofs to Izzy plus "the other dog" from miss cow here 😘😘😘💕🐾🐶🐶💕🐾🐮💕

If it's any consolation, I *feel* older than my 45 years! But yes, no more graceful moves for any of us!
You give Miss Cow lots of hugs and love from us. We so enjoy sharing in her adventures. Sure wish she could come visit!
