Not! I was driving over the mountain to work the other day and right in the middle of the road was a big dog. Now before I go any further, I have this fantasy that Ty will just drop a dog in my lap. That way I will be sure it is right. So right there is this dog. Not really sure of. The breed looked kind of Rottie mixed with something that had really long ears. When he shook his head, his ears looked like a propellor spinning around his head. I think he might have had some mites or something because he shook them a lot. I noticed even before my car completely stopped that he had a red collar. That usually means there is an owner. Any collar, not just red. Now what I was going to do with this large dog, I am not sure. I get out of my car and he shook those huge ears at me. I have met very few dogs in my life that I could not walk up to. When I stepped in his direction, he growled and barked like he was going to tear off my arm. I still moved closer. He shook those ears once more and tore off so fast that I would have never caught him. There are a lot of homes along my route, so I am assuming that he went back towards home. I hope so. I guess I am a bit glad he had an owner, this guy was quite large. A lot bigger than Ty was. So, so much for my vision that he was going to be so happy to have been found by this nice lady and jump into my car. By the way, I would not have just taken him. I would have hoped he had tags and would have tried to find his family through the local vet if there was no contact info on him. I probably looked like a complete idiot, trying to pick up a hitch hiking dog. Conjure up that visual and you have your chuckle for the day. Lori and Ty

Lori,
Lol !! I had to laugh at this post, and I am sure others will as well !! These pups that appear out of nowhere sometimes, I always believe there is some underlying reason for it, just not sure what. And I am with you as far as hoping THAT special pup from Polly and Ty will be dropped on our laps........it will happen, I JUST know it will, for you and me.

Thanks for the cute story.....
Love,
Bonnie & Angel Polly

Our story: Broke rear leg in June 2013 - non-conclusive results for cancer so leg was plated and pinned. Enlarged spleen in September 2013 and had it removed and was diagnosed with Hemangiosarcoma and started chemotherapy. Became a Tripawd January 8th, 2014 and definitive Hemangiosarcoma diagnosis. Three major surgeries in 7 months and Shelby took them all like a champ only to lose her battle to cancer in her brain. We had 8 amazing extra months together and no regrets. #shelbystrong #loveofmylife

Ha, too funny! You never know what Ty may bring your way. At least you got that poor fella (or lady) out of the road!

That's a great story. It's actually very similar to how my Cece was dropped into my lap. I was supposed to go to a movie with a friend on a cold, snowy December day. She called and said she couldn't go, that she'd found a pup on the double yellow lines of the country highway at the end of her driveway. I told her I'd come help her find the pup's people. Well, hours later, having knocked on doors, and posters made, I brought the sweet girl home with me to wait for a call. 3 1/2 years later, here we are, snuggling on the couch. :) You never know what the day will bring.

Lori,

That story is so funny. I'm famous around here for picking up strays or what I think are strays. Once I picked a malamute that tried to kill everything on my farm. Luckily I found his owner. Another time I picked up an old half blind cow dog. He fell out of his hay truck. He had a tag so I called the owner and she was so grateful she bought me a box of wine. It drives my husband crazy and I think he thinks I now pick up dogs to score wine (not a bad incentive though). I'll bet Ty will present a dog for you hopefully one that isn't snarling and full of ear mites.
