Here is a recipe to make a mold of your dog's paw print

For smaller paws:  1/2 cup salt, 1/2 cup flour and 1/4 cup water.
Then you can double for bigger paws.
Knead to dough form
Make impression
Bake at 200 degrees for 3 hours.

I thought that would be a cool thing to do.  I might try it  :)

Thanks Michelle a d Sassy. I've purchased these kits before and big pawprints really seemed to be too much. Too big for the amount of product they give you It's really nice to knlw how to make and we can make as much as we want! I like the idea of being g able to add my hand t next to pawprnt. Kind d of an eternal unbroken connection.

Thanks for Shari g and best to you and Sassy, Sally and Happy Hannah

I did this with the first dog we had.  I treasure it.

Liberty (Libby) was diagnosed with OSA on 1-22-13.  Right front amputation on 1-31-13. No IV Chemo. Metronomic Therapy started 2-19-13 along with supplements and some home cooking. Lungs clear until 1-06-14.  She's still her happy, hoppy, bossy self.  Living the dog life to the fullest and a proud Winter Warrior. :) RIP my Libby 4-21-03 to 3-19-14

I did this for Cadence, but I'm lacking in any kind of artistic sense, so I bought a kit.  I used the one with the clay.  We tried the cement one to make a stepping stone, but it was a nightmare.  A two year old could do the one we did, so I figured I was safe.  All you need to do is press the clay into the frame and take the print.  I did it when Cadence was laying down and it turned out wonderfully.  I then baked it and it was done.  Now we have a paw print of her and a picture of her on the other side.

Ok, I finally got around to doing these paw prints.  I think I made them a little thick but they did turn out really well.  I might even try a 2nd bunch but I like the results.  I painted them.  You can do whatever you want with colors.  As you can see I did sparkles LOL.

These are Sassy's.

Michelle, I love those! You did a great Job! Those pups have some. mighty big feet!! I can just picture you coming up with SME sort of creative way......maybe a "shadow box" frame or something like that.....to hang on paw print on each side of Sassy's portrair..

Hey, isn't it time to post a picture of where you have her portrait displayed? Or do you must carry it with you everywhere you go?

Glad you made this post today. Put a little fire under my butt to remind me to get Hannah's big on paws into infinity!!

Love to you and Sassy girl!

Those are great. Don't want to hijack your thread, but I found a kit at a dog shop in Annapolis MD. Take the paw prints using the provided paint and send it back and they make a painting out of it/them. It's from pawposies.com. I'll try and get a picture added.

way-cool Pawesome!

The Tripawds Gifts blog also has a number of paw print kits on the Remembrance page. There are also kits for making garden stepping stones with paw prints.

I'd really like to try this too!

I was thinking maybe a hole could be made at the top of the dough before baking to add a ribbon or a piece of yarn for hanging?
