I love Fluffy's new name... Whiskey!!! After cleaning up all that diarrhea... you'll be wanting to drink some whiskey, eh??
Dr Pam... Love the pictures of Loki and Julian!!!
Angel Jake and Wolfie's Mom
Jake, 10yr old golden retriever (fractured his front right leg on 9/1, bone biopsy revealed osteosarcoma on 9/10, amputation on 9/17) and his family Marguerite, Jacques and Wolfie, 5yr old german shepherd and the newest addition to the family, Nala, a 7mth old Bengal mix kittie. Jake lost his battle on 11/9/2009, almost 8 weeks after his surgery. We will never forget our sweet golden angel… http://jakesjou.....ipawds.com ….. CANCER SUCKS!
A lot of breeders of large or giant dogs prefer adult food. This is fine as long as the adult food states that it is "AAFCO approved for all life stages". A safer thing would be to feed a large breed puppy food because it is lower in calories, calcium, and protein than regular puppy food. I like the Innova Large Breed puppy but Proplan also has a good one. I would NOT feed regular puppy food or your guy could grow too fast and have joint problems down the road (although one bag won't hurt!).
Pam
Diane,
I love the name Whiskey. I might suggest that you keep a jug around for the next year or so. You are going to need it! Congratulations on the new member to your pack. Thanks for the photos.
Dr. Pam,
Loki and Julian are so adorable. Thanks so much for posting the photos. I always think of you as The Doc! The pictures really made me smile.
Fortis'Dad,

I am in PUPPY HEAVEN just looking at these photos of Whiskey, Loki and Julian!! I'm smiling from ear to ear. So adorable - just too cute for words!
Kami (Mackenzie's Mom)
My sweet golden Mackenzie. She became my angel on Dec 29, 2010 at the age of 8 1/2 although she was always my angel from the time we brought her home. She was diagnosed with osteosarcoma in Sept 2009 and officially became a tripawd (front leg) on Nov 5, 2009. She will be forever in my heart and now she's running free with all of our other tripawd heroes. I love you Mackenzie!
So cute! Crate training is definately the way to go. We have crate trained four dogs and wouldn't do it any other way.
Debra & Angel Emily
Debra & Emily, a five year old doberman mix, who was diagnosed with an osteosaecoma. She had a right rear leg amputation on May 19, 2009. On November 10, 2009 she earned her wings and regained her fourth leg.
Diane - he is ADORABLE !! And I love the name - Whiskey is very cute. I can imagine that Casper is having to watch his back with an energetic puppy chasing him down to play....
Sorry to hear about the diarrhea - having just been through a fairly lengthy battle with that myself - as you know - I thoroughly sympathize!
I have heard that Orijen food is very good. Lots of people "up here" feed it to their dogs.
Anyway - great that you got the puppy home safe and sound (and you, too).
Take care !

"Going Dog" def: living every day in the moment
"It came to me that every time I lose a dog they take a piece of my heart with them. And every new dog who comes into my life gifts me with a piece of their heart. If I live long enough, all the components of my heart will be dog, and I will become as generous and loving as they are."
