Even though I haven't been posting lately due to the fact that we have been on the go more than not, I have been trying to keep up through lurking and on the Facebook page. Just couldn't let the Black Dog Day go by, though, without a photo of Murphy doing what he has been doing a WHOLE LOT of this summer.
Kathi and Murphy
Murphy is a five year old Lab/Chessie cross. He was hit by a car on 10/29/12 and became a Tripawd on 11/24/12. On 2/5/13, he had a total hip replacement on his remaining back leg. He has absolutely no idea that he has only three legs!
UPDATE: Murphy lived his life to the fullest, right up until an aggressive bone lesion took him across the Rainbow Bridge on April 9, 2015 and he gained his membership in the April Angels. Run free, my love. You deserve it!
KATHI AND MURPHY....Great to hear from you and see pic of your happy boy!!! Love this pic!!
Happy Hannah had a glorious additional bonus time of over one yr & two months after amp for osteo! She made me laugh everyday! Joined April's Angels after send off meal of steak, ice cream, M&Ms & deer poop!
What a great thing to celebrate!!
I can't leave out my Angel Leland or the little hellion Lucian. Both are black Dobie boys.

May you finally be healthy and running free at the Rainbow Bridge. Until we meet again my sweet boy!
I'm a little late to the party... but Aissa wants in. She's my sweet momma's girl (over 13 years old). I call her my wiggle butt and baby girl. I've never understood the whole black dog and cat thing. Which is probably why, after I adopted Brendol, I also adopted Sadie, a black chow/lab mix. And after Sadie, Aissa came home with me. And then there is the fact that all three of my cats are black.
Adelaide is a young tripawd Husky, from an injury. Her amp was on 10/1/12. She has 4 sisters, Aissa (a senior border collie/chow), Maggie May (a puppy Great Pyrenees), Mathilde and Morrigan and 1 baby brother, Bagheera. We are all watched over by our angel Brendol, who was dx with OSA 1/30/13, amp on 2/6/13, and left us on 8/20/13.

She does have quite the wiggle especially for a senior gal!.

Really, really hard to believe she's over thirteen!!! She acts like a puppy!!! Look at her play! LOVE HER!!
So glad you posted her tonight...smiles are needed!
I think she and Nellie may have the same Great, Great Grandfather!

Oh my goodness, I am in love with your Aissa!! She's so fluffy, just like my Jake was! I love when she turned to you and smiled . I can't believe she is 13...just goes to show that age really is nothing but a number. Aww, this made my day, thanks for posting.

Aww thanks guys. Can't help but love her. She is my good girl. Doesn't wander, doesn't do much of what she shouldn't, you tell you what you don't want her doing and she won't do it. She has kept that little pep and bounce in her step like puppies have all these years. And her one ear up and one ear down adds just the best amount of whimsy to her. While she sleeps about 95% of the time now, once she's up, the twinkle and bounce returns.
Sally, I didn't know you had other pups! Nellie looks like she's a real sweetie. I knew you had a colony of cats, but not the outside dogs. And Elizabeth, your Jake was so handsome with those blue eyes contrasting with his black hair. What a lovie!

I know I am late to this topic, but in my life, EVERYDAY is and has been black dog day for about 30 years! And of course, black Labs have ruled my house.....
The first pic is of my first Lab heart dog, Duchess; she was with me for almost 16 years; how fortunate I was to have this smart, wonderful best pup friend in my life....
#2 is my current Lab love, Pearl, who is now almost 20 months old, she is a comical goof...!!
#3 is my sweet Maggie, not long before I lost her to hemangiosarcoma, she definitely marched to her own tune in life....
Eventually, I will add another Lab girl into my life, hopefully another yellow, but I'm not rushing.....it will happen when the time is right, and when Polly says it's time.....
Love to all,
Bonnie & Angel Polly
It's never too late to post pictures of beautiful pups!
