For anyone who wants an additional celebratory scoop of ice cream --- tomorrow is Canada Day! !
I'll be celebrating with a little 5 KM job in the morning, some random flag-waving, and some desperately-required yard work! Catie and Riley are planning extra treats, an extra long playtime at the park and some extra healthy naps.
Woohoo.

O Canada, glorious and free!
O Canada, we stand on guard, we stand on guard for thee.
O Canada, we stand on guard for thee.
We are all Canadians tomorrow!
We will all be "bland" tomorrow! Bwahahahahahahahahaha
Comet - 1999 to 2011
She departed us unexpectedly January 23, 2011 at the age of 12 1/2.
She was born with a deformed front leg and a tripawd all of her life.
Cheers to our friends in the Great White North, eh!
Didja know Admin Guy is Canadian by default? His folks are from Toronto (but he's an American by birth).
Party on!

That makes him only 1/2 bland!

I'll try to get some pictures of our "waterfall" off the High Level Bridge. We are going to have a baseball loaded day - practice in the morning - and then our team (and families) are going to an Edmonton Capitals (I think they're AAA or Junior) game in the evening. My son wants to golf in between. I'm thinking gardening....
Anyway - Happy Canada Day eh~!

"Going Dog" def: living every day in the moment
"It came to me that every time I lose a dog they take a piece of my heart with them. And every new dog who comes into my life gifts me with a piece of their heart. If I live long enough, all the components of my heart will be dog, and I will become as generous and loving as they are."

Happy Canada Day from rainy Vancouver! Can all of you that are in sunshine right now please turn your fans Northwest towards B.C. and send us some sunshine so we can enjoy our celebrations without our umbrellas.
Thanks a bunch!

Ah, Toronto. The second place cultural centre (Quebec gets number one) of our Canadian landscape (according to politicians and our national newspapers).
Phooey.
I'll set aside my western bias for today though.
Happy birthday Canada!

Yes, bland! (Okay, fair play, I stole that from Stephen Colbert) The 'vanilla' in the tags was all mine, though! I should add a 'beige' in there too!
Darlene, I hope you were trying to add a Canadian flag. It wasn't showing up so I added one in for you. Wow, I think you put a computer program in for a picture! It was like 1 full page of garble just for your picture!
Okay, okay, okay – I'm gonna be nice to my Canadian friends today. And in their honour, I'm adding the unnecessary "u" !!
I give them lots of credit for at least getting "some" of Comet's jokes and enduring her bad behaviour!
Take off, eh.
Oh Jim - your are so humourous!

I did the 15km a few years back . The steep slope coming back up to the Legislature was a killer!
Oh, don't I know it!! My friend and I were registered for the 15KM this morning (we did it - barely - last year - and yes, the slope up to the Legislature damn near did killled us; not to mention nasty Emily Murphy. Oof). We opted out and did a little 5 KM route at 7:00 AM instead. Training's been a little spotty the last month.

I have not been coming here as often as I would want, anyhow...
But it's great to hear from you nonetheless! Today has been like an old school reunion. We've seen a few members logged in who we haven't heard from in a couple years.
