Happy Ampuversary Sassy. I can't believe that 18 months ago today you would have been in surgery at the time I am writing this. I know you had exceeded all my expectations and proved to so many people that a big dog (and even one slightly overweight) could handle an amputation. You gave it all for this fight. I am so proud of you and will continue to celebrate you and all you have done.
Hugs and all my love

Our story: Broke rear leg in June 2013 - non-conclusive results for cancer so leg was plated and pinned. Enlarged spleen in September 2013 and had it removed and was diagnosed with Hemangiosarcoma and started chemotherapy. Became a Tripawd January 8th, 2014 and definitive Hemangiosarcoma diagnosis. Three major surgeries in 7 months and Shelby took them all like a champ only to lose her battle to cancer in her brain. We had 8 amazing extra months together and no regrets. #shelbystrong #loveofmylife
YAAAAAAAAAY! HIP HIP HOOOOOO RAAAAAAAAY!
SASSY SUGAR BEAR you showed all potential tripawds....... especially "super-sized" well-muscled big dogs.....what victory looks like!! AND...you showed everyone that, even after mets showed up, you didn't let that interfere with your plans for happiness and joy........ heck no!!! You continued to stomp out that piece of crap disease for almost a year (yeah, ten months is close enough to count as a year when you are battling mets too!!)
You darn right.....we need you and Sassy to stay here and share your story of hope, courage and determination........you and Sassy are fixtures here on this site and you MUST continue to tell her story and inspire others facing this journey! Sassy is a huge beacon of hope! HUGE BEACON OF HOPE!!!
AND THAT PICTURE...OMD!!!!!! Look at the love and the happiness on your faces......beautiful picture, just beautiful!!! Soooooooo joyful! The bond between you two .......nothing can ever break that bond!!! Sassy is such a pretty girl. Her personality just jumps off the screen.....look at that mug.....that cute way she felted her head.....adorable! And ALWAYS the prettiest, shinest fur in the land!

What a great picture, Michelle! I'm shedding tears for you because I know your heartache. You and Sassy were both brave warriors, thumbing your paws and the big "c" and giving it all you had. I know you are so proud of her as we all are. She will never be forgotten.
Hugs to you,
Amy & Spirit Libby
