Happy, Hoppy 11 month ampuversary to my handsome pup, Tucker!
Tucker continues to love life on three legs - though he does have some of the challenges that many older Labs have. As Rene and Jim have stressed to us all many times, core strength is really important for our tripawds to continue living happy and "painfree" lives.
The day before the amputation of his right front leg, Tucker was diagnosed with mild hip dysplasia in his left hip so rehab has been very important for him.
Tucker spent his day today with one of the vets from his clinic - who is training to become a certified canine rehabilitation specialist - and he got to try the underwater treadmill....with great success.
Again many thanks to everyone I have met on this journey!
Many hugs
Linda and Tucker
Yay !! Happy 11 months handsome Tucker !! I am so glad we have all these specialized treatments for our pups and kitties now, I'm sure it is a huge help for them as it is for us when needed. But now, time for cake and steak, and definitely ice cream !!
Here's hoping Tucker has many more Happy Anniversaries ahead !!
Love,

Our story: Broke rear leg in June 2013 - non-conclusive results for cancer so leg was plated and pinned. Enlarged spleen in September 2013 and had it removed and was diagnosed with Hemangiosarcoma and started chemotherapy. Became a Tripawd January 8th, 2014 and definitive Hemangiosarcoma diagnosis. Three major surgeries in 7 months and Shelby took them all like a champ only to lose her battle to cancer in her brain. We had 8 amazing extra months together and no regrets. #shelbystrong #loveofmylife
Yay Tucker. Hoppy 11 month Ampuversary. It has gone so fast. Keep up the good work with your therapy. And kicking butt. Love it

Deb and Angel Lexie* Diagnosed at age 13. Tried radiation first; wish we had amputated upon diagnosis (even with lung mets). Joined Club Tripawd April 2014 & Lexie loved life on 3 legs! Advice: Start physical therapy as soon as your vet clears it, especially hydrotherapy if available :-) See Lexie pics here.
Way to go Tucker!!!
We're all so proud of you and getting to your 11 month Ampuversary!! I have no doubt you have many, many more Ampuversaries and Birthdays to celebrate.
I am so happy that your rehabilitation is going well and I'm sure you had a blast in the water on that treadmill.
Congrats and keep going strong Tucker!!
