So I needed to get a video of Jilly tonight for her one month ampuversary blog tomorrow to show how great she RUNS now. I didn't plan to get a blooper video. I started shaking the bag of treats and clearly chemo has done nothing to her energy or appetite because LOOK how excited she got that she jumped just a wee bit too soon to get on the couch!
Jill is a 9-year-old tuxedo kitty. She was diagnosed with Osteosarcoma in June 2012 on her toe in her right hind leg. Her leg was amputated on 12/12/12 and she completed four rounds of chemo (2 of Carbo, 2 of Doxy) in April 2013. She is doing an awesome job of adjusting. She is an inspiration for kitties everywhere.

Oh, she's so cute and what an inspiration these little furry amputees are! When my dog had her amputation, I thought it was a little odd that the vet and the PT both used the word "compensating" - as in 24 hours post op and she can squat and pee on her own, "she's compensating well". I suppose that is the medical term for it, but it does not do it justice as evidenced by Jill. She's not compensating, she's flat out living life to the hilt on three legs. You go, Jill!
Happy ampuversary! I agree with Karen, that look at the end says it all.
Karen and Spirit Magnum
Magnum: 30th May 2002 to 5th May 2012. Lost her back left leg to osteosarcoma on 5th Sep 2011. Lung mets found on 20th Mar 2012 but it was bone mets in the hip that ended her brave battle. Magnum's motto - "Dream as if you'll live for ever, live as if you'll die today" (James Dean). Loyal, loving, courageous and spirited to the end. My beloved heart dog, see her memoirs from Rainbow Bridge ...... http://princess.....pawds.com/
Jill is looking fantastic. She's not gonna let losing a leg slow her down. Jill looks so happy and it looks like she has adjusted very well. Keep it up Jill. We are all rooting for you.
