Hi all

Once again not a tripawd prob but a Grandpa Sarge Problem lol

We have been hit with yet more ear infections - had antibiotics for 10 days which cleared up most of the infection in his right ear but not completely and now his other ear (left one) is infected too Arghhh!!!! so two different antibiotics now and on top of that he got a heamatoma (spelling?) in his right ear aswell - vet has drained that so fingers crossed it doesnt fill up again as they dont want to sedate him due to his age and he didnt cope to well last time. Kayla on the other hand is being her brilliant self as usual whatever

Sorry to hear about Grandpa Sarge's ear problems. Yeah, they can be quite annoying and recurring.

The only experience I've had with the "cauliflower ear" (that's easier for me to say than the chemo....whatever) was that in each of the two cases they did eventually go down....I guess reabsorb (?). Eg are painful while swollen so I made sure I didn't accidentally rub on it or touch around the ear. For various reasons this was the route we decided on and it did end up healing naturally ---can't remember time frame. ... a couple of weeks maybe?

The best to you and Grandpa Sarge......handsome boy!

Well stone the flamin' crows! ;)

Oh poor Gramps! I'm so sorry. What kind of antibiotics is he on?

Be sure to take your probiotics now, you want to keep all that good bacteria in your gut while you're on those mega-meds.

Get well soon old man, we're cheering you on!

(love to Kayla!)

Ouch ouch ouch!  Get better soon, Grandpa Sarge!

ACL tear in right hind leg 12/5/12 and scheduled ACL repair surgery 12/21/12. Pre-op xrays revealed osteosarcoma. Amputation 12/28/12.  Chemo (carboplatin) started Jan 10, 2013 and ended on April 5, for a total of 5 doses. He handled carbo like a champ!  No side effects.  We started metronomic therapy at his third chemo and have been also doing some holistic treatments.  He's a lively, playful 10 year old huskie-boarder collie and a very proud member of the Winter Warriors!  Our love. Our funny little guy!
