Mom to Tripawd Angels Jake (2001-2014) and Rosco (2012-2015) and Tripawd Tanner. “Whatever happens tomorrow, we had today; and I'll always remember it”
We had that too (long before we became a Tripawd but definitely more so post-amp).
Well, we all know about Shelby's "ownership" of my bathroom that was humorous and worrisome at the same time. The best was when she was 100% healed and out of the bathroom she would be dancing around with me when I was getting ready to out or something and as soon as I told her that she wasn't going with me - she would stop in her tracks, look me straight in the eye and walk to the bathroom and shun me. It was her equivalent, I guess, of giving me the middle finger. It was pretty hilarious to witness such passive aggressive (and human-like) behavior.
As as I recall, before her amp, she was prone to pouting when she wasn't going to be coming with me wherever I went. She had an uncanny way of knowing that if I showered at night AND washed my hair, that meant I was going out vs. just showered and putting on pjs after a workout. If she saw me washing my hair, she would go lay in front of my door.
What a silly girl! For old times's sake - Shelby residing in the bathroom, one week post-amp and basically refusing to budge for any reason! Love my baby girl!
Thanks for starting this, Elizabeth! I love fun stories!!!

Our story: Broke rear leg in June 2013 - non-conclusive results for cancer so leg was plated and pinned. Enlarged spleen in September 2013 and had it removed and was diagnosed with Hemangiosarcoma and started chemotherapy. Became a Tripawd January 8th, 2014 and definitive Hemangiosarcoma diagnosis. Three major surgeries in 7 months and Shelby took them all like a champ only to lose her battle to cancer in her brain. We had 8 amazing extra months together and no regrets. #shelbystrong #loveofmylife
Elizabeth,
TOOOO CUTE! Love cuddle monsters. Makes me miss my Brendol. She was my cuddle girl. She would squish between be and the couch even if there was only a couple inches.
And Adelaide's tripawd peculiarities are 1) when walking on leash, she uses her missing front left leg to her advantage by leaning towards her missing leg for maximum pulling leverage, 2) when the back seats are down and she's back there, she uses her chin over the headrests to gain balance, like she is holding onto the seat with her chin, and 3) I swear she uses the missing shoulder to her advantage in escaping the fence. She can slide through the smallest spaces! It's like if her nose can get through, then so can the rest of her.
Adelaide is a young tripawd Husky, from an injury. Her amp was on 10/1/12. She has 4 sisters, Aissa (a senior border collie/chow), Maggie May (a puppy Great Pyrenees), Mathilde and Morrigan and 1 baby brother, Bagheera. We are all watched over by our angel Brendol, who was dx with OSA 1/30/13, amp on 2/6/13, and left us on 8/20/13.

Franklin, he was the Happiest Dog on Three Legs! Diagnosed 09/26/2012 with Osteosarcoma, amputated 12/4/2012. Had a wonderful 5 1/2 months painfree until he ran for the Bridge on 5/15/2013. Always in my heart, and always a guardian angel of my pack... You can follow his Tripawd Adventures, before and after, in my blog, Frank'n'Farter!
