Fortis and his not so favorite treat the coconut….or what is left of it! He loves playing soccer with it, tearing it to shreds, and finally cracking it open but he sure doesn't like the taste. But I can assure you it won't stop him from devouring another one….go figure.
As you can see from this shot once he gets a taste oh boy does he get angry at that poor coconut.
Brett and Fortis,
First, Foremost, and The Ultimate measure has always been - Do They Enjoy A Good Quality Of Life. Judging from this coconut encounter, we all would have to say, that you have succeeded. Fortis is now ready to give these demonstrations at a Hawaiian Luau.
Spirit Cherry's Dad
Bruder bought a coconut, he bought it for a dime,
His sister had anudder one she paid it for de lime.
She put de lime in de coconut, she drank 'em both' up
She put de lime in de coconut, she drank 'em both' up.
She put de lime in de coconut, she drank 'em both' up
She put de lime in de coconut, she call de doctor, woke 'im up,
Said "doctor, ain't there nothin' I can take?"
I said "Doctor, to relieve this belly ache,"
I said "Doctor, ain't there nothin' I can take?"
I said "Doctor, to relieve this belly ache."
Sadie is my 9yr old Rott/Shepherd mix. Diagnosed with osteosarcoma in her right scapula 1/28/10. Our brave girl had her amputation 2/13/10 and her last chemotherapy on 6/6/10. Unfortunately, a tumor appeared in her back right leg and on 10/7/2010 Sadie's earthly journey came to an end. On 10/24/2010 we adopted Ranger, a handsome Rott/Lab mix tripawd (got hit by a car) I think Sadie sent him to us.

That's a HOOT! Who would have ever thunk to give a coconut?
I see your knees mister!
Sadie, is that a song? Please tell me it's not a poem!
Comet - 1999 to 2011
She departed us unexpectedly January 23, 2011 at the age of 12 1/2.
She was born with a deformed front leg and a tripawd all of her life.
It's part of a song. I first heard it in a movie ("Practical Magic") Jimmy Buffet sang a version, and so did Kermit the frog! It's on you tube, but I don't know how to post it on here

Holly joined the world of tripawds on 12/29/2009. She has a big little sister, Zuzu, who idolizes Holly and tries to make all of her toys into tripawds in Holly's honor. And she's enjoying life one hop at a time!

Oh my dog that is so funny! When I was in Florida, my pawrents never thought of giving me a coconut to play with and they were everywhere! Who knew?!
Silly Comet, haven't you ever heard this song before?

Boy Fortis you sure do know how to shred a coconut. To bad after all that work you do to get it opened you you don't like what's inside.
Jo Ann & Tasha
Tasha 8 years old, First cancer diagnosis 6/26/09, Last cancer diagnosis 9/26/09, Amputation 10/01/09, Loving our girl moment by moment.
Tasha lost her battle and became my Angel on May 4 2011. Forever in my heart….
This is hysterical! I'm dating myself now but I remember that song so well!! As soon as Sadie posted the words I knew exactly what song this was.....poem?? Really Comet?? You're funny. And Fortis is pretty funny too with his OCD...stands for Obsession Coconut Disorder....
Kami (Mackenzie & Kobe's mom)
My sweet golden Mackenzie. She became my angel on Dec 29, 2010 at the age of 8 1/2 although she was always my angel from the time we brought her home. She was diagnosed with osteosarcoma in Sept 2009 and officially became a tripawd (front leg) on Nov 5, 2009. She will be forever in my heart and now she's running free with all of our other tripawd heroes. I love you Mackenzie!
DUH. Cometdog had fuzzy brain. Of course, I know the song.
