I am sooooo excited! When Spencer was diagnosed with cancer I contacted an amazing photographer in CA about possibly doing family pictures that would include Spencer. I didn't want just normal family pictures, I want pictures that will focus on our family with Spencer. As a photographer in this area, I know lots of great family photographers. And some pet photographers; but no one who is amazing at both. So, I contacted Melissa Palomo just in case she might have plans to come to GA some time (she does some travel). Originally we tried for something in November; but normally she needs to have 3 booked sessions to make the travel worth it. So we put it off until the spring. But then Friday I contacted her and asked if she might know someone in the Atlanta area because I just don't know if Spencer will still be here or the same by spring. She decided to go ahead and schedule to come out ASAP and just try to get those other sessions booked once she set the date.
So we are doing our family pics the first weekend of Feb. I think she is going to take 2 more sessions for the weekend if anyone is interested in some amazing pics of you and your amazing pets!!!
Here is her Facebook page:
Jac and Angel Spencer. Spencer was 5.25 years old. He fought a grade 3 fibrosarcoma, started on his shoulder. Left front leg amputated in August 2011. 15 weeks of chemo finished 12/22/11 (mytox and adria). Lung mets found on x-rays 12/28/11. Started carboplatin 1/6/12. Went to Heaven on 2/27/12. I miss him like crazy every day. See his blog here: http://spencer.tripawds.com/
Oh what a neat thing to do! I hope you get others to join in. Professional photos are a treasure. Hey Golden Girls, I think you're nearby, right?
Be sure to put this in our Facebook page as well, I know that Facebooker folks like Vizsla Bart would probably be interested (he's in Cumming, GA).

I just had to post and say how very much I wish I was in GA to join in! I was born and raised in Greenville, SC and my dream is to return south at the earliest possible opportunity (we are currently in PA and it is just TOO COLD for my southern blood). It make me smile everytime I see one of you Georgia girls post!!
Zeus was a Husky mix diagnosed with Osteosarcoma at age 11. A visible lung met and suspicious spot on his liver meant a poor prognosis-six weeks was our vet's best guess. We decided to fight for our boy and his right front leg was amputated on 12/1/11. We did six rounds of chemo, changed his diet and spoiled him completely rotten. We were blessed with 10 great months after diagnosis. Against the odds, the lung met remained a single met and grew very little over those months. A wonderful furbaby with the most gentle spirit, he fought with a strength that we never imagined he possessed. We have no regrets...
