We met this lady who told Mom she loves animals (I knew it the second I saw her!)
She has two dawgs, five cats and twenty (!) miniature goats, all of them have lovely names too
She invited us to go to her house which is just outside Burgos but sadly we had to decline because we still have quite a bit of road to negotiate today ...

We went back to this building (the one with the Pieta at first floor level) because Mom thought the coat of arms and door deserved a close up ... with me as the main star as always, of course ...

Oh my gosh, this is great. I'm finally catching up on your winter travels. I'm so happy you and Miss Cow are back in the romance countries where she receives love, hugs and kisses wherever she goes.
It is so funny how people move away from her and she keeps hopping even closer to them to lean in. There is no getting away from her hugs! I think the leash is only for looks because a dog is suppose to be leashed. I suspect that woman who wanted to hang on to it didn't know that only the dog had to be leashed, not the person. I'm glad Miss Cow got her wee in.
Your descriptions are so funny. I was expecting to see the girls with clogs on their feet not skates. Looks like wonderful winter weather that is not -32 degrees. I hope Eurydice is warm enough.
I love all the photos and it shows how enticing Europe is even in the winter. It's all so charming.

I felt compelled to play one of the greatest Portuguese folk singers called Amalia Rodrigues, she sang one type of folk music which comes from Lisbon (since the 1820's) called the Fado which is classified by UNESCO as World Cultural Heritage.
Another unique point is the Portuguese Guitar which is always used and can make you cry as it can "speak" to one's soul ...
As a side comment, I would add there is also another type of fado in Coimbra which is a town renown for its Universities, the first of which was founded in 1290 by King D. Dinis ...
This particular University is one of the oldest in the world.
