Monkeybutt Elmo has arrived at the home of Squirrel Boy Sam and Felony Melanie, the victim of yet unverified assailants. Upon arrival, he immediately collapsed due to extensive damage to his left eye and forehead.
Elmo was immediately rushed into intensive care, where the finest medical minds were consulted to determine the best way to reduce his pain while attempting to save sight in the remaining right eye. Several transfusions were administered, then Elmo was wheeled into surgery. The best hands in 'plastics' were called in, and the damaged orb was removed with a high-powered dremel tool, using a fine grade grinding wheel. Relief for Elmo was instantanious.
A large number of sutures were required to stabilize the remaining eye, however Elmo did retain his sight and has full range of motion. A complete recovery is expected. Not wishing to appear physically challenged, Elmo felt this was a wonderful opportunity to update his look, and make the most of his most recent ordeal. Like our fearless leader, MBBVP. Elmo has taken on the look of a pirate, hoping to instill the wrath of the monkeydog on unsuspecting tripawds.
Elmo's bravery and determination are commendable...but how will he fare with the likes of Felony Melanie?????
That's a dashing new look for the Elmo the Red, although maybees a Viking hat would have been more appropriate.

Wowza. Elmo, you are brave! I can't believe all that you've gone through!
Now all you need is some fangs and you'll totally be a perfect Monkeybutt Bunny Vampire Pirate Elmo!
I hope Felony Melanie will be nice to you! (You may not notice, even if she isn't, cuz they probably have you pretty hopped up on pain killers after the surgery. And if they didn't give you any pain killers, here are two words for you: liquor cabinet.)

I am a Monkeybutt Bunny. I used to live on the beach in Mexico. Now I have it good. Well, mostly good anyway. My mama tells me about my angel big sister, Abby, all the time. Apparently she was like a big deal or something....
OH MY GOODNESS! Elmo has seriously been through the wringer! Outside of the obvious missing eyeball, he is filthy??!! Was he living on the streets!??? He is verging on "Hobo Elmo"!
Nice work Charon on a successful surgery!
Here he is at the pool at Mandalay Bay Hotel. A far cry from his time in Chicago!
Comet - 1999 to 2011
She departed us unexpectedly January 23, 2011 at the age of 12 1/2.
She was born with a deformed front leg and a tripawd all of her life.
OH Sister Charon! What a wonderful job you have done to our Elmo!!! I guess he'll be a little cock-eyed and will always be staring at his nose from here on out but - it's a good look on him!
Thanks Sister Charon for saving the day!
PS - Hello my little jalapeno gal...I see you have your own account now! Smoooooooch!

elmo is resting this morning. his recovery continues, and he wishes to say thanks to all of his adoring fans and friends for their concern and well wishes. fortunately, his remaining eye has full range of motion and can turn in all (yes all) directions. he has not yet found the liquor cabinet...but upon a playdate with miss mel...we might all be hoisting bottles.
the only viking we have is our pool, and it has not been opened for the season, so elmo will be 'viking-less' for now...as for the vampire fangs..after ocular surgery, elmo has stated he definitely is not open for dental veneers!!
we too (two, to) were concerned with his 'hobo' disguise, but didn't know if his shirt was washable (many imbedded smells)...so we didn't fuss with it. as for dancing...the little man is still rather doped up, and is lucky to be able to sit up and look about...
more updates as elmo recovers...

Life is good, so very, very good!!! Gayle enjoyed each and every moment of each and every wonderful day (naps included). She left this world December 12, 2011 – off on a new adventure.
Love Never Ends
Maybe Elmo's incessant giggling brought on the attack. They were probably trying to tickle him with their teeth and just couldn't stop!

Golden retriever, diagnosed with osteosarcoma in September 2010 — right front leg amputated November 2010. He fought valiantly to stay with us; but a second diagnosis of osteosarcoma, this time in his left front leg, was more than our golden warrior could overcome. He loved his pack — and everyone else he met.
We loved him even more.
Thanks for the pennies, Sammy. They helped.
