Hi Everyone,
Just wanted to update Dylan's progress after his surgery (left front amp) on Sept. 13. Today is day 10 and he is doing wonderful! He's eating well and doing his business with no problems. He is off his meds now and will be getting his staples out on Thursday.
Like others, we find some days are better than others. Sometimes he seems a little sad but that also seems to be getting better.
He actually went down 5 steps from our deck by himself the other day and we were all so excited. He was so excited himself he came back up the steps (no problem there) and tried it again. That time he did a little face fall so he has not tried that again. I think once he heals from sutures he will be able to do it with no problems.
I just want to thank this community again as I would have been lost without it. You have all given such encouragement from the decision to have the amp done to his progress afterward. There is no doubt we did the right thing! I will keep updating his progress.
Thank you again!

Ten days out and he's doing this well? That's wonderful!
It's so hard to see that things DO get better when you're going through the worst of the recovery, I'm so glad you're experiencing the joy in his rebound now. Don't worry too much about the face plants, they do happen but they are always worse for the humans than the dog.
Can't wait to see some pics!

Hooray for Dylan! Hope his recovery continues to go smoothly. Once he is more used to the new normal and has his stamina back, the face plants won't be as frequent. They are no fun to watch, but our pups just usually pick themselves up and soldier on!
Keep us posted on his progress,

Abby: Aug 1, 2009 – Jan 10, 2012. Our beautiful rescue pup lived LARGE with osteosarcoma for 15 months – half her way-too-short life. I think our "halflistic" approach (mixing traditional meds + supplements) helped her thrive. (PM me for details. I'm happy to help.) She had lung mets for over a year. They took her from us in the end, but they cannot take her spirit! She will live forever in our hearts. She loved the beach and giving kisses and going to In-N-Out for a Flying Dutchman.
