Now, the word LOVE....what is YOUR definition of LOVE?. How do you know when you feel ot or see it? If you don't know how to define it in a way that's attainable.....well......you know what I'm saying!
Have fun!
Oh Sally... that's a loaded question!!!! I don't know ... Maybe I do love Jasper. I do tell her "I love you" (in Spanish only) so that it's not disrespectful to Shelby! WOW... I am one hot mess! LOL! I care a lot about her ... she makes me laugh which is great. And she spent her day out in the main room and she was good (as far as I can tell)... got home and she was, as suspected, in her crate. She likes to go in there on her own!
BTW - driving home tonight there was a car in front of me from Tennessee. The license plates listed "Shelby" (as their county, I know) but I take that as a sign from my girl! I have to... I need signs and I miss her so much.
Thanks for the links again about the treats/treasures found at blog paws! Great stuff. We will be ordering soon!

Our story: Broke rear leg in June 2013 - non-conclusive results for cancer so leg was plated and pinned. Enlarged spleen in September 2013 and had it removed and was diagnosed with Hemangiosarcoma and started chemotherapy. Became a Tripawd January 8th, 2014 and definitive Hemangiosarcoma diagnosis. Three major surgeries in 7 months and Shelby took them all like a champ only to lose her battle to cancer in her brain. We had 8 amazing extra months together and no regrets. #shelbystrong #loveofmylife
Jasper Lily got her variety bag yesterday in the mail (thank you Katy and Jackson for the recommendation and Amazon info). It is mostly pig's ears and bully sticks and boy can my girl plow through those! Katy - you give Jackson a pig ear every morning? Jasper is half his size (maybe more) and in the 45 minutes I was getting ready for work, she was more than half done. I took it away since I didn't want to leave it w/her all day unattended. She has her babies to chew on (which she does) and her antler (which she is making some great progress on as well).
My girl is a chewer! I am going to get her a kong and freeze it with the yummy recipes that Michelle sent to me. I do worry about Jasper's caloric intake and am trying to keep her lean and fit!!! She is definitely like Shelby in her food/treat/toy motivation! 🙂

Hey now! That's FUN! Yes, each bag we order comes with a different variety. That's fine with us. The more recent bag was heavy on the tracheas. Gross looking things, but apparently they're darn good stuff! Yes, he gets one of these crunchy bits of animal every AM, right after his morning walk and business. He'll go through a pig ear in probably 3-5min. The tracheas take a little longer, maybe 7-8 min? It's wise to take it away if you're not around to supervise. I WISH it took J 45 min to get through one! That'd be awesome!
Happy chewin'

ACL tear in right hind leg 12/5/12 and scheduled ACL repair surgery 12/21/12. Pre-op xrays revealed osteosarcoma. Amputation 12/28/12. Chemo (carboplatin) started Jan 10, 2013 and ended on April 5, for a total of 5 doses. He handled carbo like a champ! No side effects. We started metronomic therapy at his third chemo and have been also doing some holistic treatments. He's a lively, playful 10 year old huskie-boarder collie and a very proud member of the Winter Warriors! Our love. Our funny little guy!
I love the picture! So cute.
I go to the butcher shop and get cow bones. Sammie's (and Libby's) fave! The ones I get are pretty big and long but you could get them cut down by the butcher for a smaller dog. The challenge of getting the marrow out keeps Sammie busy for a very long time. I keep the extras in the freezer.
I like the cow hooves but couldn't stand my house smelling like a barnyard.
I want to thank Katy for the links too! That variety pack looks interesting.
Amy & Spirit Libby
Liberty (Libby) was diagnosed with OSA on 1-22-13. Right front amputation on 1-31-13. No IV Chemo. Metronomic Therapy started 2-19-13 along with supplements and some home cooking. Lungs clear until 1-06-14. She's still her happy, hoppy, bossy self. Living the dog life to the fullest and a proud Winter Warrior. :) RIP my Libby 4-21-03 to 3-19-14

NEVER, EVVVVVVVER LET ANY OF "US' HEAR YOU SAY YOU ARE GOING TO STOP BECAUSE SNE'S OT A TRIPAWD!! Now granted, four leggers do look funny, but should ot be discrimknated against beacuse of the disability of that extra leg!
Bahahaha! I thought the same thing, seriously, if you STOP updating us on Jasper I would miss her! Back to the topic...we have to keep our crazy boy Tanner entertained. He doesn't tear anything up, but he's mouthy with everything. He thinks antlers are ok and will devour a bully stick in under a minute. The greatest chew toys we have are kongs. We have two black ones and the standard red one. We fill with all kinds of goodies (you can find recipes online), freeze them, and then Tanner goes nuts. He can chew them, get a nice dose of vitamins and get his crazy oral fixation all in one.
We bought Tanner a 2 ft long bone at the store one day, and he devoured one whole side of it in 15 mins...so no more of those!

I'm so jealous of all of you getting to give your dogs chewies! Now that there are 3 in our pack, chewies have gotten difficult. My little dog doesn't really chew, so before I could give Finn a chewie of his choice and he'd sit for a long time and work on it and I'd take it away once it got too small for him (he can swallow pieces bigger than a golfball!). Now with Dom, they both love to chew. And while thankfully they don't fight over them they are still brats! I give them each a chewie, and they take it to their own place in the living room, then it's like something clicks and they know the other one has something, so they both leave their chewie to go get the other one's and they will do that over and over and over and over again! So all I have is no dogs chewing on anything, but going back and forth in the living room after the other dogs chewie! I've tried separating them, putting them in their crates etc, no go. So for now we are chewieless lol. I'm going to a dog show this weekend where I can hopefully pick up some 6ft bully sticks and saw them in half, maybe they're tasty enough to keep their attention. With Finn being so big, I can't really offer him pig ears or hooves or most antlers because they're too small for his gigantic mouth and they're gone in about 1-2 mins.
“A dog is the only thing on earth that loves you more than he loves himself.”
Domino had his left front leg amputate on May 13th 2014 after being hit by a car. He's now living a happy healthy life on three legs :)
Wow for a little gal she's got some power jaws! I'm jealous she can eat all that and it doesn't affect her stomach.
