Well, as if I didn't have enought >2 legged's in the house, I took in a foster last week. Peaches is a real sweetie. She is a Springer Spaniel who is about 10 years old. She was surrendered by her owner's family in NYC. According to the vet, she was probably kicked and had a fractured jaw that was not properly taken care of. Consequently her tongue hangs out the side of her mouth constantly.
When she arrived Champ was like a puppy all day following her around and checking her out. Day 1 she just laid on a blanket in the corner of the dining room and didn't move except to go outside or eat. I thought she was so quiet and reserved.
Well, she has come out of her shell these last 3 days... WOW!!!... she bounces around the room following me, lays on the sofa on top of me, barks (didn't know she knew how the first 4 days), and is absolutely adorable. I hate to think about how she must have felt at her old house and at the vets for two weeks... poor baby.
But now she is in a happy loving home until the right forever family finds her.
Joy
Little sweetheart knows when she has it good. Bless you for taking in a senior and giving it a good life.

Love Never Ends
It is the best of work to foster. I know it can be very challenging, but you are really wonderful to give this girl a place to be and a place to learn to come out of her shell. Thank you very much from all of us that can talk. I would imagine she would love to thank you too if she could.
I want to see pictures too!

You are an angel here on earth for giving this girl a chance. She is obviously soooooo hoppy to be in such a loving home. Congratulations!

Comet - 1999 to 2011
She departed us unexpectedly January 23, 2011 at the age of 12 1/2.
She was born with a deformed front leg and a tripawd all of her life.
Welcome Peaches! So awesome that you have taken her in. Now she can have the life that she so deserves. My heart just breaks for her knowing that she had a pretty rough life but at the same time, you are truly blessed to have this wonderful new pet in your life who probably never knew what being loved was all about. We hope Peaches finds a great forever home...I'm sure you'll see to that. She's so lucky to be in your care!
Kami and Angel Mackenzie
My sweet golden Mackenzie. She became my angel on Dec 29, 2010 at the age of 8 1/2 although she was always my angel from the time we brought her home. She was diagnosed with osteosarcoma in Sept 2009 and officially became a tripawd (front leg) on Nov 5, 2009. She will be forever in my heart and now she's running free with all of our other tripawd heroes. I love you Mackenzie!
Yay! I second and third, etc. everyone else's statements about how pawesome you are for fostering, and blessed you all are, and - yay!!!
Gerry has been a tripawd since 12/16/2009.
He was a shelter dog with a mysterious past and an irrepairable knee injury.
Videos and pics of Gerry's pawesomeness can be found at: http://gerry.tripawds.com
