It is with a very heavy heart that I must share that Brody boy has entered the gates to doggy heaven. He lived a wonderful 10 1/2 years, which is a lifetime in Boxer years. He was the most beautiful, loving and friendly dog (child) and he was a fighter and survivor until the end! Unfortunately, he started having seizures a couple months ago which we controlled with meds (after the MRI showed a dark spot), but eventually they got the best of him and his health deteriorated. I don't regret any of the decisions we made and enjoyed the extra 8.5 months we got to share together. I told myself I that when his quality of life was not good I would make the decision and it was very apparent today. I honestly wasn't sure I would be able to know, but I was wrong - Mom knows best! I grilled him a ribeye as his last meal which he loved and gobbled up. I held onto him until the end. I kissed and loved on him and told him how special he was, how much joy he brought to our lives, how proud we were of him, how much we loved him and we were going to miss him. I will always treasure our time together and remember what an amazing friend he was. He is no longer suffering and is running wild in doggy heaven with his parents, brother and fellow tripawds! He is watching over us. The day started off very dreary which is how I felt, but after we set him free the sun came blazing out!!!! I'm not going to lie, I'm sad, I miss him and I'm crying as I try and type this. It's only been a day but it's very weird not having him around. I am too emotional to write anymore. In time I will update the site with "Brody's Journey" and share our tripawd months!!!
Thank you all again for your love and support. It truly meant so much to me!
Love, Julie
Julie,
I am so sorry Brody joined the Bridge. You gave him the greatest gift we can give our babies. I know its tough. I am crying for you as I write this. Every time we lose one of our babies it brings everything back. I know in my heart that all of our babies are whole and running healthy & free and will be there to meet us one day. It takes time and no one can tell you how long as we are each individual when it comes to our grief.
Know you are not a lone and we are all here for support.
Hugs

Julie,
I am so very sorry for the loss of your handsome furbaby, Brody. May he run free with all his friends-I know that he is watching over you. Please know that we are thinking of you during this difficult time.
Sending you hugs,
Joan and Lily
Our beautiful Lily was diagnosed with osteosarcoma in her front leg on 12/14/11 at age 8 and had amp on 12/16/11. She completed 5 rounds of carbo. She was so brave and kicked cancer's butt daily! She lived life fully for 4 years, 3 months, and 15 days after her amp. My angel is a warrior princess. I miss her so much.
I'm so sorry. Michelle is right..I'm crying hard and reliving the day we let our Libby go. Please know we are here for you.
Hugs,

Deb and Angel Lexie* Diagnosed at age 13. Tried radiation first; wish we had amputated upon diagnosis (even with lung mets). Joined Club Tripawd April 2014 & Lexie loved life on 3 legs! Advice: Start physical therapy as soon as your vet clears it, especially hydrotherapy if available :-) See Lexie pics here.
I'm so sorry. You gave Brody the most loving and hardest gift...his angel wings. He made his journey knowing how much he is loved. Godspeed Brody. Run free, sweet boy, run.... Don't forget to send your mommy pennies so she knows that you arrived safely.

Shelby Lynne; Jack Russell/Shiba Inu mix. Proud member of the April Angels of 2014.
October 15, 2000 to April 8, 2014
Our story: Broke rear leg in June 2013 - non-conclusive results for cancer so leg was plated and pinned. Enlarged spleen in September 2013 and had it removed and was diagnosed with Hemangiosarcoma and started chemotherapy. Became a Tripawd January 8th, 2014 and definitive Hemangiosarcoma diagnosis. Three major surgeries in 7 months and Shelby took them all like a champ only to lose her battle to cancer in her brain. We had 8 amazing extra months together and no regrets. #shelbystrong #loveofmylife
So very sorry for your loss. How lucky to have that extra time with him to make more wonderful memories.

Julie, this is such a sad day for the Tripawds community, I was so sorry to see your news. You and your family, and your dear sweet Brody are in our hearts and prayers, we hope you can feel the love coming across the universe to you as you cope with such heartache.
It's never easy to live up to our part of the bargain with our animals; we owe them a painless farewell with dignity, and you lived up to that promise flawlessly. You were brave and courageous and so respectful of his needs throughout the entire journey. I know he thanks you for that and will repay you a dozen times over by always keeping watch over your family. Look around, wait and listen, Brody's spirit will always stay close and strong in your life.
I'm so sorry. Please know that we are here for you if you want to share more about your life together, we'd love to hear it.
Many hugs coming your way.
