One part of me wants to say, now now Bernie, off! geez, I'm sorry Ma'am.
One part of me wants to say, Way to go Dude!
It would be hard to not have busted out laughing as soon as the lad and I were back in the Pilot.
the chauffeur
P.S. They just opened a Hooters not to far from the Mill Valley Dog Park...just in case Bernie might want a cheeseburger.
I always love your descriptive writing, and this one didn't let me down! I am busting a gut on this, that lady must hate dogs now... or feel she has great animal magnetism.. ;D
Bernie B, you are a true force to be reckoned with!!

I couldn't begin to say how special Sammy is to us. Living and laughing with and loving this wonderful boy is priceless.

He is neutered, right?
Yes, but at this point I think it's safe to say that doesn't matter. It doesn't seem to have slowed him down much.

So what you're saying is everyone should wear turtlenecks to the April Tripawd meet up!!
I suppose so, if you're willing to take chances with only a turtleneck. Personally, I'd suggest chain mail or maybe an actual medieval suit of armor.

Well, he's certainly shown his qualifications to help hire the waitresses…
OMD! I laughed so hard reading this! You should put a spoiler alert in the subject heading, because I sprayed my Diet Coke all over my computer monitor! You should write a book about Bernie! It would be bigger than Marley & Me!
Diagnosed with OSA: 5/2/2011 Ampuversary: 5/11/2011 OSA returned in hip: 8/26/2011
Chili Dawg crossed the Rainbow Bridge on 8/30/2011 & is now pain free. He was my heart dog, and I miss him every day.
Poor Bernie, so wrongly accused. He thought they were pillows and he wanted to take a nap!
Smilin' Sammy, March 16, 2004 – Dec. 5, 2011
Golden retriever, diagnosed with osteosarcoma in September 2010 — right front leg amputated November 2010. He fought valiantly to stay with us; but a second diagnosis of osteosarcoma, this time in his left front leg, was more than our golden warrior could overcome. He loved his pack — and everyone else he met.
We loved him even more.
Thanks for the pennies, Sammy. They helped.
Oh Bernie - what a place to take a nap Well I'm hopefully safe as my pillows don't make a cleavage and I'll make sure not to wear a skirt to the April Pawty, but I can always jump in Lylee's chariot to escape. Although your 3rd strike will be some other antic to surprise an unsuspecting female.
John you write so well I had my husband read your post - he had tears from laughing so hard.
BLL - be good or else.....

John, is there any way you could arrange to take Bernie to one of those Scottish highland games things?? Just sayin'... Bernie + men in kilts + video camera = viral YouTube stardom.
Plus then we could find out if Bernie is an equal opportunity molester.
Abby: Aug 1, 2009 – Jan 10, 2012. Our beautiful rescue pup lived LARGE with osteosarcoma for 15 months – half her way-too-short life. I think our "halflistic" approach (mixing traditional meds + supplements) helped her thrive. (PM me for details. I'm happy to help.) She had lung mets for over a year. They took her from us in the end, but they cannot take her spirit! She will live forever in our hearts. She loved the beach and giving kisses and going to In-N-Out for a Flying Dutchman. My first thought reading this was-- wow, they let dogs into California Home Depots.... Here, dogs are lucky to be able to enter the dog park. Then, reading your account of "the incident", I laughed so hard tears ran down my face. I love to read about Bernie's antics. It's so much funnier when it's not your dog. I really like Bernie. Maybe your mistake was going to the nuts and bolts aisle-- aren't nuts kinda like screws??? Hmmm....
Scout: January 31, 2002 to November 7, 2011
Scout's diagnosis was "poorly differentiated sarcoma"; amputation 1/11/2011. Scout enjoyed 9 fantastic years on 4 legs and 9 glorious months on 3 legs. If love alone could have saved you…
Hahahaha Scout that is FUNNY!
I'll bet if you wandered into your local Home Cheapo they wouldn't have a problem with it. Our rule is, we always try to go where no dog has gone before as long as there aren't any "no pets" signs. If they throw us out, so be it but we love breaking new ground for canines. We say, dogs should be allowed EVERYWHERE! WOOO HOO!
