Sally messaged me and told me that Happy Hannah requested that I post some pictures of Willow. so here they are. It's been almost 11 months since I had to let her go, and I still miss her every day. I was thinking about putting together a kind of tribute to her to post on the anniversary of the day she died. I think that's something I need to do to because I'm crying as I post these pictures...another step to healing. Thank you Sally for helping me realize that.
Ahhhh.... Willow is beautiful!!! I love brindle dogs! Those ears are perfection!
Thank you for sharing your baby with us. I know it's hard ... but you can tell that she was very much loved and adored (and most importantly, she knew it)

Our story: Broke rear leg in June 2013 - non-conclusive results for cancer so leg was plated and pinned. Enlarged spleen in September 2013 and had it removed and was diagnosed with Hemangiosarcoma and started chemotherapy. Became a Tripawd January 8th, 2014 and definitive Hemangiosarcoma diagnosis. Three major surgeries in 7 months and Shelby took them all like a champ only to lose her battle to cancer in her brain. We had 8 amazing extra months together and no regrets. #shelbystrong #loveofmylife
Very pretty girl. Sharing these lets us get to know her and by that, she is never truly gone.
Thank you.
Adelaide is a young tripawd Husky, from an injury. Her amp was on 10/1/12. She has 4 sisters, Aissa (a senior border collie/chow), Maggie May (a puppy Great Pyrenees), Mathilde and Morrigan and 1 baby brother, Bagheera. We are all watched over by our angel Brendol, who was dx with OSA 1/30/13, amp on 2/6/13, and left us on 8/20/13.

And Happy Hannah was right.......Willow was absolutely gorgeous. Thank you for sharing these lovely pics of her, and I certainly understand the steps-to-healing process. It has only been 2 1/2 years since I lost my black Lab Maggie, and still healing from her loss, then my Polly dies 2 weeks ago from the same cancer. The worst thing of all, was losing my mother right before Maggie died........ They say what doesn't kill you, makes you stronger......jury is still out on that one.
Keeping you and your Angel Willow in my thoughts,
Bonnie & Angel Polly
Oh Carol!! She is beautiful! Absolutely exquisite!! I LOVE the bone structure in her face Those magnificent alert ears...such an intelligent looking girl!
Yeah, she does have that "I'm adored and I kow it" look on her face!!
Did she like the water? Did she swim? Or did she just sunbathe by the pool and work on her briindle tan. How much did she weigh? She looks solid and muscular! Not in the "Hapy Hannah big muscled plus size model sense".....in the really "fit" sense.
I'm soooooo glad you shared these. Hapy Hannah is thrilled to see these too!
To think that you adopted her as a Tripawd and she crossed over a year later. What a GLORIOUS year that was for herz! To spend that year knowing wht love was...knowing what happiness was...knowing whar joy felt like...what a gift she found in you!
A d ya' know what? Anytime is a good time for a tribute! Can be a picture and a shared memory every now and then, or on her birthday, or everyda for etermity!! We're just glad we get to see more Willow and Carol!!
"Thank you Carol"!!!
Sending love and a knowing that you are ALWAYS surrou ded by Willow's grace...just as she is by yours.

Happy Hannah had a glorious additional bonus time of over one yr & two months after amp for osteo! She made me laugh everyday! Joined April's Angels after send off meal of steak, ice cream, M&Ms & deer poop!
Just beautiful! Thank you for sharing her pictures.
Amy & Libby
Liberty (Libby) was diagnosed with OSA on 1-22-13. Right front amputation on 1-31-13. No IV Chemo. Metronomic Therapy started 2-19-13 along with supplements and some home cooking. Lungs clear until 1-06-14. She's still her happy, hoppy, bossy self. Living the dog life to the fullest and a proud Winter Warrior. :) RIP my Libby 4-21-03 to 3-19-14
Thank you, everyone, for your kind words. Willow was a beautiful and amazing girl. She changed my life so much in the 14 1/2 months that she was mine. And when we had to let her go, my sister and I decided, thanks to Willow, that we would always adopt a dog that for whatever reason...age, special need or ?...nobody else wanted. So, on that note, I present my current love, Seven. We adopted Seven this past June. He's a senior at about 11 yrs old, deaf, has a neurological disorder that affects his gait and balance, was supposedly having seizures (I think they may have just been pain spasms due to severe arthritis in his spine!), and his regular vet was convinced he had a brain tumor, although that is no longer the thought. He's nott a Tripawd, but I hope you don't mind that I'm sharing him, too. He's very special to me and has definitely helped me with the loss of Willow.
I can not LOVE your post enough. Dogs help heal us in all kinds of ways Sometimes opening your heart is the only medicine. I just love how you have honored her memory!

OMD! What a beautiful story and a beautiful dog! YES! Seven belongs here!! This is home to exceptinal souls.....one heart is what we all are here!
Seven is eleven! He looks sooooo young! He's so handsome. Really, heis!
What a lucky, lucky, lucky boy! Regardless of his beginning, this is all that matters now...his time with you...the best time of his entire life!!
'THhank yo Carol" for brightening or day with ALL these lovely photos of two very incredibly resilient dogs and their very, very kind human partner.
Love and hugs!

Seven looks so sweet. Poor bub, wanna curl up with him and make him feel safe. I'm sure you are taking care of that.

Your Willow was a beauty thank you for sharing her again...and so is Seven! So glad he can help you through this awful time.
Cody and Family
Cody is our 7 year old Australian Heeler mix boy. Diagnosed on 2/20/14 and became a tripawd 2/21/14! We chose a homeopathic approach and he is being treated by Dr. Loops our of NC.
Carol thank you SO MUCH for sharing these great photos. I agree with Sally, anytime is a good time for a tribute to honor our furkids. Seeing the look of absolute bliss in Willow and Seven's eyes just says so much about how loved and protected and cherished they feel after joining your pack, they know they have one special human looking out for them.
And of course you can share more about Seven, we definitely want to hear it, sounds like a really neat thing that you two found each other.
I agree, photos, writing about a loved one we are grieving over, is a huge help and a step toward a mended heart.

Seven is a sweetie pie!!! he has that brow that just needs lots of nuzzles and smooches!!!
give him one for me!!!
Christine.... with Franklin in her heart♥
Franklin, he was the Happiest Dog on Three Legs! Diagnosed 09/26/2012 with Osteosarcoma, amputated 12/4/2012. Had a wonderful 5 1/2 months painfree until he ran for the Bridge on 5/15/2013. Always in my heart, and always a guardian angel of my pack... You can follow his Tripawd Adventures, before and after, in my blog, Frank'n'Farter!
