While I am waiting for your reply, I want to tell you that I just finished a book called "A dogs purpose" by Bruce Cameron. I think it is wonderful, and in looking at your puppy's face I think you should read it too.

Here is her story.....
Mike the Locksmith was re-keying a vacated house in Fort Lauderdale and heard scratching on the other side of the door. He found 4 very frightened, filthy, and extremely emaciated puppies in that room, wallowing in their own urine and feces.
He took them home, utilized the neighborhood kids to help him bathe and clean them up ---
2 males - Caruso and O'Hara and 2 females: Lucille and Ginger.
I talked to them already, and filled out an application...but they said they already had someone looking at her and her sister Ginger.
I get so angry at people when I read stories like that. It literally makes me feel sick that people would just walk away and leave those (and other) babies to die.
I hope Lucille and her sibs find loving new homes that make them forget how horrible some people can be. We're crossing our paws that you will be the one for her. She looks just like a baby Riley.

KaCee do I dare say how much that puppy looks like someone I have seen before?

I will look on amazon and download the book onto my Kindle - It sounds familiar so maybe I already did????
and it sounds like you are both reading more than just one so send me some titles and I will look them up.
I am keeping my fingers crossed on the puppy......Too bad she wasn't in California....I would be there already
and yes it makes me sick to hear stories like that - I can't even imagine letting a dog go without 1 meal let alone become emanciated.....I talked to my mom last night - they rescued a draft horse from starvation - they said it needed to put on at least 400 lbs...she said he is a pitiful sight but they think he is going to pull thru.....It takes a very long time to starve a horse to the point of losing 400 lbs. sooo sad...
BTW -
I sent the meds off and you should both be getting them today or monday -
If not this one, then the even more perfect one is there. It boggles the mind to know without a doubt that another dog is going to be abused or starved or abandoned...and it might end up in your home, KaCee! Even though I'd love to see you with one of these babies, I'm gratified that they are wanted enough to have people clamoring for them.
The horse thing makes me so angry. You're right, it takes a very long time. How can you just daily say you are planning to keep the starvation plan going? Around here, we've had some problems in that area with the economy. But we also have equine rescues.
Many years ago we moved into a rental house and opened the garage door to start unloading boxes. A calico cat was sitting in there. She'd been left in the house, deliberately, for a couple of weeks. We kept her and in gratitude she gave us 6 kittens a few days later.
