Laura and Jack,

After much deliberation, we will definitely focus on the fourteen month ampuversary and have a very big PAWRTY in honor of this huge milestone. The Captain was brave enough, your efforts were strong enough, and the powers above Graced you both enough to reach this wonderful milestone. In fourteen months, you have provided this community with a wealth of great stories, happy memories, and encouragement. Such longevity is definitely a beacon to any and all that follow. May they be able to walk in such great footsteps. This milestone requires the usual set of aids – extra hugs, extra playtime, special treats and ICE CREAM. You probably will be hearing a great deal of noise from the NorCal TriPawd contingent – we love to find any reason to celebrate and none get any better than this.

Seven months ago, I walked in nearly identical footstep. Miss Cherry was approaching her fourteen months ampuversary, Christmas was at hand, and she was slipping through my fingers. No tears in front of the little girl – only smiles, songs, and rides. I made sure that when it was becoming too much for me, I would leave the house, go outside, and totally loose it. This was especially true the morning that I called to tell Cherry's breeder that we would be letting go that afternoon. For many of us, it has been the eyes that tell us the story. The tired eyes that tell us that all the strength has gone.

Please give a big Poodle Hug to Jack from all of us here. Tell him how proud all of us are of his strength. Let him know that there are so very many pulling for him.

Jackers!!

14 months?!? I can't believe it. What happened to 10, 11 and 12? You have just racked up those ampuversaries and, yes, you have exceeded expectations of any vet for a young punk like yourself. And what a great 14 months - you have had so much fun and taught your Mum and the rest of us so much. Tazzie thinks of you as his little bro, since you are a young tyke, but I guess one can learn a lot even from a little guy like you. (Tazzie's mum wishes she could teach her big sis and bro that.)

We are sad to hear about your tumor. But we are glad your Mom accepts it as best as is humanly possible (or has she morphed into true dogness).

Like Yoda's Mum, I too feel that the four months we had post-amp were longer (but in a very good way) than the previous 7 years.

Tazzie also managed to get the hypers and cheer me up each time I started to think his days were numbered. I hope we get to hear more Jack stories in the days that lie ahead.

You are in our thoughts, little Jack!

Wow, 14 months! That just shows that anything is possible when it comes to our pups! Celebrate every day, every hour, every minute with Jack - you are both an inspiration to us all.

Paws up to you both, and sending lots of hugs!

What an inspiration you both are. Jack is such a fighter and Laura you amaze me with your strength and great attitude. You two are a winning team for sure. I truly do admire you both. I will keep Jack and you in my thoughts.

Sending positive thoughts your way,

Happy Ampuversary, Jack!  You are such an inspiration to us - and so is your mom.  We're going to have some special treats in honor of both of you today!  And we will keep you both in our hearts, as always.  Once again, you are showing us how to walk this road with courage and grace.

Hugs and big Wheaten kisses to Captain Jack!
