David and Rocky (and Baxter now too!)
Rocky had his right front leg amputated on Valentine's Day 2017 after being diagnosed with osteosarcoma.
He joined the September Saints on September 3, 2017.
He is the toughest, bravest, sweetest and best friend I'll ever know.
There he is! OMG those EARS! Can he fly?

I meant to answer this earlier. He, technically, may not be able to fly, but when he's chasing squirrels and gets a running start he gets pretty dang high when he jumps up the tree trunk.

Oh wow David, I can't believe it's been three whole years. Every time I see Rocky's sweet photos on his banner, it just feels like he is still physically with us, his spirit is so strong in our hearts and community. We will be thinking of you and sending lots of love and hugs on his angelversary tomorrow. What will you and Baxter do to honor him? Anything special?

Hugs ❤ Bev, nurse Moe cat, Autumn's Angel Roane & Angel dog Gypsy 🐾
My sweet soulmate Roane was diagnosed with osteo in June of 2019. Had a rear leg amp on July 2nd & crossed the rainbow bridge to be with her sister Gypsy on the first day of Autumn Sept 23 2019.
Happy Angelversary Rocky ❤ The sky is brighter tonight. You are always a vision of hope, and you are always in our hearts. Especially your papa's heart. Sending lots of love and peace. I know you're watching over your family❤❤❤

Thank you for the thoughts. They are definitely appreciated.
My plan was to stay up until 4 a.m., but that didn't happen. When I took Baxter for his walk last night, I took Rocky's collar with us. I told Baxter that Rocky was coming with us. I swear Baxter knows his name. And I went through his memory box today and looked at all the sympathy cards (including the one from Tripawds).
I know I've said this a zillion times, but even now - three years later - it's weird how it feels like Rocky was both just here and hasn't been here in 100 years.

Yeah, we get your feeling of "here" and "hasn't been here". I dunno, maybe it's the Spirit energy that is the`here` part and the earth clothes the "hasn't been here".
And I DO know Baxter knows who Rocky is, not just from his name, but from his energy. Rocky still feels his presence, or senses it, on a level we hoomans aren't tuned in to.
You always pay tribute to Rocky in such heartfelt ways. Nice that you took him (his collar) on a walk with you today.
You know we would love to see a picture of Rocky today. Actually, don you have a pocture where Baxter we t to Rocky's chair, or bed when he first got there. It seems like he did something that recognized Rocky's presence right off the bat when yoj first brought him home. Then again, ,aybe I'm just delusional 🤪🤪
Extra hugs to you from al, your tripa familh❤

What a beautiful way to honor Rocky. I never thought of doing something like that, it must have been so sweet to hear his tags jingling when you took that walk. At three years out, was it easier on your heart to experience that day? I know it took me several years before I could make it though Jerry's angelversary without crying. I still miss him of course, but the raw heartache has dulled. I totally get that feeling about time passing and not passing. I like Sally's way of looking at it.
I'm certain that Baxter knows his name, after all, Rocky sent him your way!
