So hard to believe it's been a year today since we lost Shooter. It's much easier to look at his pictures now and I love it when I see him at the top of the page - just makes me smile. I just wanted to honor him on this day and plan on adding to his blog later today (dopey me forgot to do it this morning and I had it all done and just needed to copy it to the blog-old age I guess).
He is still missed and lovingly remembered.
Luanne and Team Shooter
Spirit Shooter was a Miniature Australian Shepherd who was diagnosed with a MCT and had a LF amp 1/28/13 at 13-1/2 years old.
Shooter crossed the Bridge on 8/28/13, his 7 month ampuversary and two weeks from his 14th birthday.
Luanne,
There is no doubt that you will continue to miss having your precious Shooter around. These Angelversaries can be tough but you give me hope that some day I'll be able to flip through my Leland's photo album and smile (instead of cry).
It's an honor to join you in celebrating Shooter' life today. I have no doubt Shooter was a special pup as are all the Tripawd pups and kitties that have passed.
Keeping you in my thoughts today and sending you a warm HUG!

May you finally be healthy and running free at the Rainbow Bridge. Until we meet again my sweet boy!
I ALWAYS smile when I see Shooter's banner!!!!
Sending you a big hug and lots of love on this day... the one year marker seems surreal and so far away (for us) but I know it's a tough one. I look forward to reading your blog and celebrating Shooter today...
Much love,
Alison with the Spirit of Shelby fur-ever in her heart (and little Jasper too)
Shelby Lynne; Jack Russell/Shiba Inu mix. Proud member of the April Angels of 2014.
October 15, 2000 to April 8, 2014
Our story: Broke rear leg in June 2013 - non-conclusive results for cancer so leg was plated and pinned. Enlarged spleen in September 2013 and had it removed and was diagnosed with Hemangiosarcoma and started chemotherapy. Became a Tripawd January 8th, 2014 and definitive Hemangiosarcoma diagnosis. Three major surgeries in 7 months and Shelby took them all like a champ only to lose her battle to cancer in her brain. We had 8 amazing extra months together and no regrets. #shelbystrong #loveofmylife
He is still missed and lovingly remembered.............ALWAYS REMEMBERED HERE!
If we all have to be in this stinkin' journey, at least we are on it with the most loving and courageous human souls and dog souls on tne planet!
I really look forward to reading his blog and seeing some more pictures. I smile also when I see his banner and those beautiful eyes looking right up at us.
I remember seeing a photo of Shooter stylin' his blue tripawds bandanna so proudly. That was when I ordered one for Happy Hannah (girlie pink of course)! After all, she was indeed honored to be part of "Team Shooter".
Luanne, thank you for stayingnhere and carrying on Shooter's legacy. He was a fighter, he overcame many, many obstacles and nothing can ever really take him away from us! You have so much to offer those on this journey, but especially "Shooter specific" information and wisdom, not only about the piece of crap disease, but also about his breed. Such valuable input.
When you can, do you mind sharig how you and your husband came p with hhs name? I know you did awhile back, but with so many new people on jere, I think they would enjoy it!
I know Shooter has a lot of his family members at the bridge with hm, including his favorite horse. And I also know he will forever be your Guardian, as you were his. He loved you so and knew how much you loved him.
Holding you in my heart today dear friend.
Sally and my Eternal Light Happy Hannah~~~and Merry Myrtle too!
Happy Hannah had a glorious additional bonus time of over one yr & two months after amp for osteo! She made me laugh everyday! Joined April's Angels after send off meal of steak, ice cream, M&Ms & deer poop!
Luanne and Spirit Shooter,
Everything Sally said, and everyone else for that matter.......Shooter will ALWAYS be remembered here. These anniversaries are always tough, and the more time that goes by, doesn't matter, we will still miss our special, precious Tripawds like it was yesterday. I believe the immense heartbreak eases a bit, but it will never completely go away.......it just becomes a livable day-to-day kind of ache. Hoping all happy memories of Shooter, are what is in your heart and mind today......
Keeping you and Shooter in my thoughts today,
Love,
Bonnie & Angel Polly
Luanne,
Thinking of you today and always. I can't believe its been a year since he has been gone either. So close with Sassy & Brendol (part of last year's awful August). He is always by your side. I can look through Sassy's pictures and smile. I haven't made it through her memorial videos yet but one day I will. Shooter will never be forgotten. Lots of good memories his walk he did with you that 1 k. Those are great memories and things that I will always treasure about your boy.
I am sure he is watching & saying geesh mom, its not a big deal that you didn't write on my blog yet. I know you will do it. Do something special to remember him today. As Sally says Chocolate, Ice cream & Steaks
Hugs & lots of love

Thanks to all for your special posts. I just LOVE this place!
Sally - When we started getting Mini Aussies we decided to name them after booze as the original parents were named that way. So it started with CC (Canadian Club), Cutter (Cuttysark), Marty (Martini & Ross), Rosie (Tequila Rose) and Frosty (Frosty Mug of Beer). Shooter's registered name was Cutlers Whiskey Shooter. So there you have the story of the names .
I'm pretty sure Shooter is smiling with all the great thoughts about him today!
We are so lucky to go through this together.

Luanne, ditto what everyone above has already said. Shooter's banner always puts a smile on my face also. I have a bit of a soft spot for Aussies. He just looks so darn proud showing off his bandanna. A year, seems so long and yet just like yesterday. We are coming up on 5 months and some days it all seems so surreal. I am glad his pictures now bring good memories instead of pain. That is what he would want. I am going to check out your blog now. Hugs from, Lori and Ty
TY GUY, Best Black Lab ever! Diagnosed and had amp in January, 2014. Kicked MRSA's butt. Earned his angel wings on April 16, 2014. Run Free my boy and don't forget a shoe. Ty is a proud member of the " April Angels". Ty sent us Daryl, a Tripawd rescue in Sept. of 2016. Daryl is 5 +or -. We are also Pawrents to Chandler, a Border Collie mix who is 15 and 1/2, Lucy, a Corgi who is 7, 2 minis, 2 horses, and a feisty cat named Zoe. Zoe had a non skeletal Osteosarcoma removed in July 2015. No Chemo, she was at least 16. She is going strong although she is now completely blind. She is now close to 20 and her hobbies are eating and sleeping in front of her personal heater.
+1 and Ditto everything everyone else said. How could you not smile seeing Shooter's banner?
Luanne, it was great to read that it's easier to look at his pictures now and that you smile seeing his banner.
Cheers and hugs to Team Shooter!
Deb and Angel Lexie* Diagnosed at age 13. Tried radiation first; wish we had amputated upon diagnosis (even with lung mets). Joined Club Tripawd April 2014 & Lexie loved life on 3 legs! Advice: Start physical therapy as soon as your vet clears it, especially hydrotherapy if available :-) See Lexie pics here.
It is surprising how fast a year goes by isn't it? One Year!!! My oh my... it just does't seem like that long ago.. and do you know why? It's because Shooter is remembered here... along with all our other sweet boys and girls that have ran for the bridge. They are not forgotten here... and that's why it seems like it was not that long ago!!
Happy Angelversary Shooter!!
Christine... with Franklin in her heart♥
Franklin, he was the Happiest Dog on Three Legs! Diagnosed 09/26/2012 with Osteosarcoma, amputated 12/4/2012. Had a wonderful 5 1/2 months painfree until he ran for the Bridge on 5/15/2013. Always in my heart, and always a guardian angel of my pack... You can follow his Tripawd Adventures, before and after, in my blog, Frank'n'Farter!
Sorry I missed posting on the day- it snuck by me.
As with everyone Shooter's banner makes me smile and think of both of you. One of these days I will get back up to Montana and maybe we can meet!
