This was the uncontrollable pup we went to the shelter to meet. It was definitely love at first sight.

Fast forward to today, just a short year later. Ollie has come so very, very far. He has learned so much in that time. This past week he showed us just how much he has bonded and made us a part of his life. He was at stay on the lawn while we did some work in the front yard. All at once, I turned around and he was no longer where he was supposed to be...completely out of my sight. I called out his name and he came out from the front porch. He had gone to sit by the front door! Even though we would have preferred that he had not broken stay, this let us know that he feels he is really home and had no reason to run off any more.
Today he got to have one of Roxy's famous apple/peanut butter cakes for his celebration.
Kathi and the Turbotail April Angel...and the Labradork
Murphy is a five year old Lab/Chessie cross. He was hit by a car on 10/29/12 and became a Tripawd on 11/24/12. On 2/5/13, he had a total hip replacement on his remaining back leg. He has absolutely no idea that he has only three legs!
UPDATE: Murphy lived his life to the fullest, right up until an aggressive bone lesion took him across the Rainbow Bridge on April 9, 2015 and he gained his membership in the April Angels. Run free, my love. You deserve it!
That cake was gone in a flash, just like this past year! Wow it flew by and it's just remarkable and so fantastic to see the bond you've created. Kudos to all of you, here's to the power of the pack!

Shelby Lynne; Jack Russell/Shiba Inu mix. Proud member of the April Angels of 2014.
October 15, 2000 to April 8, 2014
Our story: Broke rear leg in June 2013 - non-conclusive results for cancer so leg was plated and pinned. Enlarged spleen in September 2013 and had it removed and was diagnosed with Hemangiosarcoma and started chemotherapy. Became a Tripawd January 8th, 2014 and definitive Hemangiosarcoma diagnosis. Three major surgeries in 7 months and Shelby took them all like a champ only to lose her battle to cancer in her brain. We had 8 amazing extra months together and no regrets. #shelbystrong #loveofmylife
I remember how angry we all were when the rescue group thought that he might be too much for you to handle. Boy you sure have turned that around! Such a sweet boy! Happy Gotcha Day Ollie!

Thanks, everyone. We, too, hope there will be many more celebrations of birthdays and Gotcha days, as well as many more adventures.

Happy Hannah had a glorious additional bonus time of over one yr & two months after amp for osteo! She made me laugh everyday! Joined April's Angels after send off meal of steak, ice cream, M&Ms & deer poop!
Okay, who presents someone with a birthday cake and says "git it"? Ollie's daddy of course. Too funny.
I would have fallen in love with Ollie upon first seeing him too. He's a winner and won the best family to live with, to entertain, and to love.
Good going Team Ollie!

I am so glad I can keep up with all of Ollie's wonderful adventures with you on facebook, because I miss most of the posts here lately.....

Much Love,
Bonnie, Angel Polly, Pearl, and Zuzu ❤️
One more little Ollie trick, just for Myrtle. This one is sooo hard for Ollie. He absolutely loves string cheese and comes running whenever he hears the package being opened.
