7 years ago today my Warrior had his amputation surgery....the physical beginning of a long, stressful, up and down journey. It's almost mind boggling that 7 years has gone by....I carry his memory with me and still thing of him EVERY.SINGLE.DAY
He - and our journey - has changed my life in so many ways I can't even express them all. I have no idea what kind of person I'd be today if none of that had ever happened, or what our life would look like. I'd like to think I'm a much better person for experiencing the grief, stress, pain, and uncertainty that came with this journey. I know my heart is fuller than I ever thought possible because of my boy. The family I met because of him is priceless; I learned that I possess inner strength I never knew I had....
No pictures this time, but a future blog post is in the making. I just wanted to reach out on this day that is forever etched in my mind and soul....and express my gratitude for being a part of Tripawds.

Nitro 11 1/2 yr old Doberman; right front amp June 2014. Had 6 doses carboplatin, followed by metronomic therapy. Rocked it on 3 legs for over 3 years! My Warrior beat cancer, but couldn't beat old age. He crossed the Bridge peacefully on July 25, 2017, with dignity and on his terms. Follow his blog entitled "Doberman's journey"

Nitro definitely made you his "project towards enlightenment" when he came here to be yoir heart dog.😎 He was such a wise and powerful teacher and you were an eager student. You mirrored his inner strength and ability to love unconditionally with perfection. You are such a loving and kind and thoughtful Soul . But Nitro would be the first to say you had those traits long before he came into your life.....he merely connected you with his tripawd family so you could shine your bea light on them. Yeah, Nitro was the perfect teacher for you.for all of us♥️

Happy Hannah had a glorious additional bonus time of over one yr & two months after amp for osteo! She made me laugh everyday! Joined April's Angels after send off meal of steak, ice cream, M&Ms & deer poop!
Awww Paula. You were an awesome person to begin with before you joined us, and even more amazing now. Of course Nitro was your greatest teacher, and our hero forever.
Hard to believe seven years have gone by in the blink of an eye. It still feels like Nitro is with us, all the time. When a Dobie joins us, guess who we think of? Yep!
We are better and stronger because you two found your way to us. Thank you for allowing us to be part of your journey then, and now. We love you to pieces!
