I can't believe it's been a year. One year ago I thought I would never stop crying. I thought I would never stop thinking about what cancer took. I still cry and I still miss him terribly but he makes me smile. He was truly a great dog and I will be forever grateful that no one showed up for him the day he was available for adoption because he was always meant to be mine. He was a great camping partner, a pizza crust connoisseur, and a lover of belly rubs....he taught me that life is as simple as that! I hope there is a grand ole "1 year welcome home" party at the bridge tomorrow.
My Jake 8/2001 - 1/29/2014
Mom to Tripawd Angels Jake (2001-2014) and Rosco (2012-2015) and Tripawd Tanner. “Whatever happens tomorrow, we had today; and I'll always remember it”
OHHHHH MY DEAR SWEET ELIZABETH...sobbing...blubbering like a baby over here..
YES, handsome blue eyed Jake was always meant to be yours...and you were always meant to be his..Soulmates, Twin Flames, One Heart.....you were his best friend and he was yours.
Every single photo shows how well loved Jake is, how content, how joyful, how secure and confident. This is such a beautiful tribute Elizabeth. I could watch it a hundred times and each time see some little different nuance tha makes me smile. The one of him sprawled out on his sofa just waiting for a belly rub...the one of you hugging him out in nature and both of you smiling so large you are lighting up the Universe! You voth have "that" inner light of love! Jake sure enjoyed his s nuggle time and just hanging out on his blankies.
And the delightful joy and exuberance Jake showed at the prospect of going for a car ride...I think that's the same enthusiasm he showed as he headed off for the Bridge...fit, young, healthy, ready to hike around with all the others and check out the Paridise that awaited him. And he was running towards the sound of his Audience of Angels who were clapping and applauding and yelling, "Come on Jake, we're gonna have a blast! Pizza is served morning, noon and night!"
Elizabeth, a beautiful tribute. Each photo chock full of happy memories Jake would want you to always remember. Jake is so proud! We are all so privileged to be traveling this journey by your side. Jake touched us all and he is forever in our hearts...always remembered here, ALWAYS!!
And I love Jake's great sense of humor!! After all, he sent you Tanner! He must have the Bridge laughing non stop at that prank!
Surrounding you with Jake's eternal love and gentle grace
Sally and Happy Hannah and Merry Myrtle
Happy Hannah had a glorious additional bonus time of over one yr & two months after amp for osteo! She made me laugh everyday! Joined April's Angels after send off meal of steak, ice cream, M&Ms & deer poop!
A beautiful tribute to Jake, and the balance with moving on to embrace those special memories. A very hard balance for us all to find, and you did it with such grace.
Happy Angelversary, Jake. You will forever be loved and missed.
Oh, and I'm blubbering with Sally. The tributes are just so touching.

I am going to ruin my new laptop with wet tears!!! I remember crying with you last year and this video and then the one you made with all our friends... I remember when you got Tanner.
Those eyes will forever be etched in my memory. Never have I see such beautiful eyes!!! SO vibrant!
I promise Shelby is always up for a party so definitely a party over the bridge today. Those crazy kids ...
You say it so well - always! Life is really simple. We should ALL Be More Dog and just take joy in the little things.
Sending love and hugs today .... and thank you for always bringing a "little more Jake" to our lives!!!

Shelby Lynne; Jack Russell/Shiba Inu mix. Proud member of the April Angels of 2014.
October 15, 2000 to April 8, 2014
Our story: Broke rear leg in June 2013 - non-conclusive results for cancer so leg was plated and pinned. Enlarged spleen in September 2013 and had it removed and was diagnosed with Hemangiosarcoma and started chemotherapy. Became a Tripawd January 8th, 2014 and definitive Hemangiosarcoma diagnosis. Three major surgeries in 7 months and Shelby took them all like a champ only to lose her battle to cancer in her brain. We had 8 amazing extra months together and no regrets. #shelbystrong #loveofmylife

Such a beautiful tribute to such a handsome boy!! These Angelversaries are tough but like you said we still miss our sweet furbabies but at least you're able to smile at the fond memories instead of crying.

May you finally be healthy and running free at the Rainbow Bridge. Until we meet again my sweet boy!
Do you hear that? Listen... I hear a little groaning.... and some pretty deep snoring...
Yup.. they are all recovering from the pawty yesterday celebrating Jake's arrival at the Bridge.. I do believe they had pig ear appetizers followed by huge baked and roasted bones with lots of meat.. and ice cream cakes galore.. drizzled in chocolate and layered wth peanut butter!!! What a feast and celebration! I do believe that Jake wore a hat that matched his eyes!!
And you know he visited you.. you may not have seen him or felt him because you could have been sleeping... but he did come to say hi... They always come check us out to make sure we are ok... and let us know that they are a-okay too.. they don't mind waiting for us.... because do you know how many pawties go on up there!! my goodness!!
I thought I heard a few passing gas.. and I know I recognized Franklin!!
A year seems so long in our heart... yet it just feels like yesterday at times...
Enjoy the smiles.. and memories that will always be there in your heart!
Christine... with Franklin in her heart♥
Franklin, he was the Happiest Dog on Three Legs! Diagnosed 09/26/2012 with Osteosarcoma, amputated 12/4/2012. Had a wonderful 5 1/2 months painfree until he ran for the Bridge on 5/15/2013. Always in my heart, and always a guardian angel of my pack... You can follow his Tripawd Adventures, before and after, in my blog, Frank'n'Farter!
Christine....we love you so much! You need to write a "Conversation with goD from the Bridge"...yeah...pretty proud of that title even if I say so myself!!
Happy Hannah had a glorious additional bonus time of over one yr & two months after amp for osteo! She made me laugh everyday! Joined April's Angels after send off meal of steak, ice cream, M&Ms & deer poop!
Awww. Finally had a chance to watch this without distractions and I'm so glad I waited. I loved seeing his life in pictures and that video at the end with the pawprints finale...truly so sweet! In almost every single picture, Jake was so easily photographed, you could see every detail of his handsome face and that's not easy with a black dog. I love that purple tongue of his!
I know you must be missing him so much especially this week, and hope that the collective love from this community brings you strength now as this anniversary rolls around.

Elizabeth,
I am right there with you......that dreaded first year of loss has come full circle, and bittersweet memories are what we have now. I will NEVER forget being a newer member here, and logging in one day to see that beautiful blue-eyed Jake looking back at me.....those blue eyes will stay with me forever, as will he.....what a precious time and life shared with you, and an even more precious time with him during this journey. He will never be forgotten by any one of us here, as well.....his first year angel journey is coming to a close, as is unfortunately the first of many coming up in the next few months, but this is also a time of cherished, and happy memories of our most beloved Tripawd companions.....and we will celebrate every single one of them now, and always......
Much Love, and {{{hugs}}}

Elizabeth,
Beautiful, sweet tribute to your gorgeous Jake. Remembering our pups is always bittersweet but I can picture him playing with Maggie, Franklin, Polly, Hannah and all the other angels with him. It was great seeing Maggie after the video was finished. Give Tanner a big kiss.
