As if her dumbo ears were funny enough ... I present - Jasper as a mouse!
I swear to DOG she posed this way all on her own... like Shelby... just sat there and took it until I put the phone down and then she tried to eat the ears. 
It was a double-whammy weekend of angelvsaries for me ... my daddy's on Saturday for 18 years (!!!!!) and Shelby's 10 months on Sunday. I spent Saturday at Disneyland with my best friend from college and it was just what I needed - distractions from being at home alone (which was the original plan). I would say there was a little bit of divine intervention there as my friend doesn't live in LA and was down for her sister's bday last week. And since Disney is a super clean place, no pennies to be found but I did see a nickle right when we got there and our other friend scooped it up! But I saw it and it counts as a sign.. Shelby didn't send me many signs this month on her angeversary and that makes me really, really sad. I feel like she has forgotten about me or thinks because I take so many adorable photos of Jasper Lily that I love JL MORE...
I do LOVE Jasper ... an awful lot but it's such a different love ... it doesn't come easy or natural. I still long for the velvet ears of Miss Shelby ...
I am so glad I never had human children ... I would be so conflicted as to how to love them differently! I know this is a human thing (not a dog thing) but I OVER-think EVERYTHING!
But Shelby's sending me strength.... that is what I have to believe ... and that is why the tears weren't as bad yesterday. I still miss her and wish, wish, wish we had had more time but when I think back on our fight ... we fought an amazing fight with NO regrets! Onward!
And Jasper really is a pretty girl...

Our story: Broke rear leg in June 2013 - non-conclusive results for cancer so leg was plated and pinned. Enlarged spleen in September 2013 and had it removed and was diagnosed with Hemangiosarcoma and started chemotherapy. Became a Tripawd January 8th, 2014 and definitive Hemangiosarcoma diagnosis. Three major surgeries in 7 months and Shelby took them all like a champ only to lose her battle to cancer in her brain. We had 8 amazing extra months together and no regrets. #shelbystrong #loveofmylife
My favorite pic of Jasper yet!! I think the gang at the bridge gets to playing so much and having such a good time that we only get signs when they slow down a bit. There are a few angelversaries the next couple of months and I think after they partied for Jake's that they are busy planning the others. Shelby would never think you love Jasper more. She KNOWS, and as an angel they know even more b/c they can see inside your heart. Shelby is proud of you for giving your love to Jasper, every picture, every laugh, every snuggle makes Shelby proud.

The magnificent Duchess, our Great Dane, brought us here. Diagnosed early July, 2014, Duchess had her front, left amp a week later. She handled her four rounds of carboplantin like a champ. She earned her wings late January 2015. A royal reincarnated into a wee-dane, she was bursting with personality and demands. We miss her a lot and are very thankful for the time we had with her. We welcomed a new rescue Dane into the family in March - Maverick! We're thankful he doesn't realize we'd meet all his demands if he put them out there.

Happy Hannah had a glorious additional bonus time of over one yr & two months after amp for osteo! She made me laugh everyday! Joined April's Angels after send off meal of steak, ice cream, M&Ms & deer poop!

Thank you Elizabeth!!!! You said it perfectly! Of course Shelby knows what is in my heart ... she sees it daily! Even when she doesn't want to.
Shelby also knows how HARD Jasper's life was before me and how HARD Jasper has worked to open her little soul up to me and now she is my tiny shadow... my velcro dog. I was worried last week that Jasper was sick since she was so cuddly at night and had to touch me but my mom reminded me that it was 'bonding' and Jasper is 'bonded' to me.
And I know ... this photo is definitely one of my favorites! I'll have to frame this one too... she's a natural w/her poses ...I love how she has her face on her prayer paws (she does that all the time now)!

This is just adorable! JL, you get cuter every day. Shelby knows how much you love her. She knew that Jasper needed that kind of love too, and that is why she picked her out for you. Remember the Dog's last will and testament? That is what Shelby had planned all along for Jasper Lily. BTW, she is snickering a bit at the bridge about the Minnie ears
TY GUY, Best Black Lab ever! Diagnosed and had amp in January, 2014. Kicked MRSA's butt. Earned his angel wings on April 16, 2014. Run Free my boy and don't forget a shoe. Ty is a proud member of the " April Angels". Ty sent us Daryl, a Tripawd rescue in Sept. of 2016. Daryl is 5 +or -. We are also Pawrents to Chandler, a Border Collie mix who is 15 and 1/2, Lucy, a Corgi who is 7, 2 minis, 2 horses, and a feisty cat named Zoe. Zoe had a non skeletal Osteosarcoma removed in July 2015. No Chemo, she was at least 16. She is going strong although she is now completely blind. She is now close to 20 and her hobbies are eating and sleeping in front of her personal heater.
Oh my dog she looks like Minnie! Way, way cute.
I'm glad you had a distraction. I think your friend's arrival to coincide with the anniversaries was no coincidence at all, it was 100% Shelby!

Such a precious picture of Jasper!!! She has become quite the littler poser for her photo ops...
I'm always envious of all the adorable pictures you get of Jasper. Whenever Lucian sees me hold up the camera or my phone he knows I'm trying to take a picture and runs straight at me so I have a hard time getting a nice shot.
I'm glad you were able to spend some time with your friend doing something fun instead of being at home and sad this past weekend.

Yes, I do remember the dog's last will and testament and definitely that is 100% Jasper .. her little life had so much chaos Shelby hand-picked her for me and said CHOSE this one.
I agree... Shelby had her paw in this weekends distractions ... it did help and there was laughter and Shelby loved to see me smile!
Oh Sahana...thank you! Perhaps you need to put a hat on Lucian... Jasper seems to become stone when things are on her big ears and is probably plotting my demise ... Photographing Jasper outside still presents a challenge except when there is a squirrel that is captivating her. I take a million photos of her a day and rarely post most of them so perhaps she is also just used to it and resigned to the fact that she is my new favorite subject!

Franklin, he was the Happiest Dog on Three Legs! Diagnosed 09/26/2012 with Osteosarcoma, amputated 12/4/2012. Had a wonderful 5 1/2 months painfree until he ran for the Bridge on 5/15/2013.
