This is the only video we have of our sweet Harmony. Because she was a Lab, she absolutely loved swimming. The bad thing about that is she always chose the stinkiest ponds or lakes to enjoy this activity. A bi-product of this fun was relentless ear issues. So we had her on a schedule of weekly ear drops where she loved the attention. No one would believe us, so I shot this video of her getting ready to get her ears treated by the hub-a-dub.
Please, please, please . . . take lots of pictures (and videos) of your loved ones, you won't regret it. I promise.
Harmony became a Tripawd on 10/21/14 (MCT). She left us way too soon on 11/1/14.

But you are right....nobody WOULD bekive this!!! A dog WILLINGLY....and with TAIL WAGG I NG, happily coming over for ear drops as though she was getting a scoop pf ice cream instead!!!! OMD!!!!
Youknow what, you may not have a lot of pics or video...but you have the k ne that counts!!!! This is all about love and trust and KNOWING whatever you do is for her best interest!!! And she ALWAYS knew that!! I just love this video....it just speaks volumes about the LOVE.....and clearly ine of THE sweetest dogs on the planet!!!!!
Okay...al smiles now...not even a tear....this is a joyful memory!!

I definitely agree - lots and lots of photos! I don't have many photos of Shelby from our time in Seattle till we moved to LA since that was pre-smart phones and digital cameras but the ones I do, I 100% love and treasure. And the videos I have of Shelby now are priceless to me. I refuse to delete any of them ... even if they aren't for public viewing!
As for little Jasper ... well she's quickly on her way to being the world's most photographed dog. I finally narrowed down a few photos (ok about 15) of my favorites of her to put into a 'baby' album. I started one for Shelby but once I got my smart phone, I quit printing photos. I should go back and print out some of Shelby's photos from the last several years to finish up her "album".

Our story: Broke rear leg in June 2013 - non-conclusive results for cancer so leg was plated and pinned. Enlarged spleen in September 2013 and had it removed and was diagnosed with Hemangiosarcoma and started chemotherapy. Became a Tripawd January 8th, 2014 and definitive Hemangiosarcoma diagnosis. Three major surgeries in 7 months and Shelby took them all like a champ only to lose her battle to cancer in her brain. We had 8 amazing extra months together and no regrets. #shelbystrong #loveofmylife

I just love reading anything you guys post because it's always a thoughtful and kind. AND, you can always tell it comes from the heart.
I have great news. The hub-a-dub saw a fur-baby online that he wanted to meet. Big, big steps for him! Her name is Meisha and we're in the process of adopting her. She's a rescue dog who was in a hoarder's care for the first 2 years of her life. She has all her limbs and we're hoping to keep it that way. We've had the pleasure of her company on a trial basis since this last Saturday. We applied for adoption yesterday.
We still grieve for Harmony, but those moments are shorter when Meisha is wagging her tail so hard it puts bruises on our legs. She reminds us to Be More Dog .
We've had to put plywood up in front of our antique glass case to keep her from busting it out. LOL!

I know .Melody will be glad to have a companion......maybe?? And Meisha has a "home for the holidays".....forever!!!

No, in no way does it diminish your love for Harmony...it just enhances it! She loved you so well amd so hard, she made sure you would never want to go without a dog to love and be loved in return! Such a fine tribute to a fine girl! And I KNOW her tail is wagging too because shenis seeing you smile again! Well done Harmony, well done!!
This just warms my heart! A doggy for Christmas! Doesn't get any better than that!! My Merry Myrtle was born on December 27, 2013 (although Happy Hannah didn't send her to me until June 2024 at a little over five months). Maybe you could give Meisha a December birthdate too!

I just heard form the organization and they've accepted our application for adoption. So now all we have to do is sign the paperwork and it'll be a done deal.
I've already started taking pictures, however, she doesn't stand still too long. LOL! She's not a pure Lab like Harmony was, but she is pure love like Harmony. We think she's part Lab and Pittie. That girl is solid!
As with all rescue dogs, she has a little baggage, but I think we'll be able to get past them.
Here is sweet Meesha, we're changing the spelling of her name since we can't re-name her.

As you know, my Jasper Lily has had her fair share of baggage from her short life thus far (also a rescue from a hoarder) but she had fully blossomed into a lovely lady. I know the kind of loving and caring home Meesha is entering she will have the best life and become a perfect family member!!! Congrats!

I love your dsecription...SOLID!!!! My Happy Hannah was referred to as "well muscled"...a "Plus sized model"...."fluffy"...a "Ruebenesque model"...a midget hippo!! But solid....yeah, I like that for Meesha!!!
And I do like that name...andyour spelling. But was that a condition of the adoption, that you could not change the name?
She's already mastered the art of soaking up tummy rubs!

Don't know yet about whether it's okay to spell her name differently, officially. If we have to spell it the other way for her records, that's cool with us. We'll spell it the new way for everything else.
