Thank you all.... we're getting ready to head out. Packing up Shelby's ashes into a couple little pill jars was bittersweet. I hadn't looked in the box / bag yet. To feel that powder through my fingers and remember that was my Shelby girl was hard. I just had to remind myself that it was just a shell - that her spirit and personality soars higher than that box.
And I dont know if dogs know or if Jasper was reading my tears and emotion since she's never seen the box before except if she can see on top of my bookcase but she got very interested in the box. And was jumping at the bookcase (which she has never done). It was like she wanted to be near Shelby too....
Shelby is nestled in my luggage - safe and sound and Jasper and I are leaving 80+ weather for rain and cooler temps.
Hugs to our Tripawds family .. your support means so much to me, always....

Our story: Broke rear leg in June 2013 - non-conclusive results for cancer so leg was plated and pinned. Enlarged spleen in September 2013 and had it removed and was diagnosed with Hemangiosarcoma and started chemotherapy. Became a Tripawd January 8th, 2014 and definitive Hemangiosarcoma diagnosis. Three major surgeries in 7 months and Shelby took them all like a champ only to lose her battle to cancer in her brain. We had 8 amazing extra months together and no regrets. #shelbystrong #loveofmylife
