I am OVER the moon excited! It's hot in LA (shocking, I know) so after 2 hours of working out, I decided to take Jasper to the dog park for her cardio. On our way home, I decided I need to grab some food so I figured I would see how Jasper did w/outside dining.
Proud is an understatement!!! As you all know, Shelby and I loved to travel, go out to eat (drink) and it was our special thing. At most I have taken Jasper to coffee or movies in the park but w/food, it was always hard.
She did amazing ... she sat like a pretty girl, didn't beg (improvement over Miss Shelby) and settled down FAR from me to assert her independence. SUCH a good girl!!! I didn't know how she would do but you all know this was HUGE on my list of 'must haves' with a new dog...
Thank you Shelby Lynne... you sent me a good one!
Because Sundays are meant to have vodka with your dog!
Asserting her independence ... sitting as far from me as possible!

Our story: Broke rear leg in June 2013 - non-conclusive results for cancer so leg was plated and pinned. Enlarged spleen in September 2013 and had it removed and was diagnosed with Hemangiosarcoma and started chemotherapy. Became a Tripawd January 8th, 2014 and definitive Hemangiosarcoma diagnosis. Three major surgeries in 7 months and Shelby took them all like a champ only to lose her battle to cancer in her brain. We had 8 amazing extra months together and no regrets. #shelbystrong #loveofmylife

oooooh I just LOVE HER EARS! I cant stand it! What a good girl she is! Shelby for sure sent you this little character.
Jill is a 9-year-old tuxedo kitty. She was diagnosed with Osteosarcoma in June 2012 on her toe in her right hind leg. Her leg was amputated on 12/12/12 and she completed four rounds of chemo (2 of Carbo, 2 of Doxy) in April 2013. Thank you everyone ... I am proud of her. And LOL Sally at her expression being intelligent. I still think she's rocking the resting bitch face.
When I left the restaurant, another lady dining w/her dog asked how long I had had Jasper and I said only about 4 - 5 months and she said she could tell because she kept hearing me tell Jasper how proud of her I was! She said she did great. So props from another diner for sure!
It was a Mexican place so perhaps Jasper felt at home listening to her native tongue all around her.
I mix it up.. vodka/wine... I know I sound like a lush but really, I don't drink that much...
She IS doing great but I am concerned about her recent 'bulimic' tendencies ... it's probably nothing BUT she seems to be vomiting up yellow bile and then she's fine and eats like normal. I'm boarding her this week for my trip so I'll ask the vet but perhaps she's ingesting too much of her toys that she likes to chew on? Or too much w/the antler marrow? She is a chewer so always chewing ... Thoughts?

Jasper Lily is just so stinkin cute in these pictures. And I love what you said about the Mexican restaurant and the music in her native tongue making her feel at home.

May you finally be healthy and running free at the Rainbow Bridge. Until we meet again my sweet boy!
Bhahaa! you do not sound like a lush.
Now try to experiment and take her to a Thai restaurant to see how she does!

Yeah, I agree with Jerry, try a Thai restaurant...........pretty sure the Mexican food is causing the yellow bile:-)
Like Sahana said...the native tongue thing was great!!! Only a lush could come up with this stuff!!!! K I D D I N G!!!!!
Not sure about the spit up....could be so manynth i ngs...does she eat grass when she goes out...could be the marrow innthe antlers. Is it at a certain time of day...or after she eats?
You and Jasper make us all smile Alison!

AWE... thank you my friends!!!
I am packing (so I might be off for a few days but you ALL area always in my heart and I bet your ears ring when you hear me talking about you over the next several days .... but my two best buds are getting hitched and I can't wait to celebrate with them!).
BUT as I was packing - Jasper's never seen a suitcase and look who made herself mighty comfy!
Oh Jasper Lily .. not this time! After I pulled her out of the suitcase, and put my socks in, she pulled them ALL out and tried to bury them AND then she tried to eat the suitcase. Her obsession with socks is hilarious ... if I forget to close the drawers, she pulls each one out and brings it to her bed. Never mind she has a million dog toys in her basket. Silly girl!
Much love my friends!!!

I JUST LOVE THIS LITTLE SOUL!!!! Jasper, Shelby could not jave picked a better dog for her! Your personality has just blossomed...just blossomed!!! And you two are just scratching the surface!
Alison, Jasper KNOWS you are going without her!!! She's trying to lack herself in your suitcase! "Take out the socks madre, put me in their place!"
I wish we lived closer..I would LOVE to babysit this sweet girl! Myrtle would be thrilled! Of course, I would not even think of giving her any ice cream! That would just be so wrong!
Have a great time Alison! Be safe! We'll miss you and Jasper!!!

This picture just had me giggling over here!!! The first thing that came to mind was "you ain't going without me mom...see how nicely I fit in the suitcase."
Yeah I don't know what it is about socks and dogs. Leland LOVED swiping my husband's socks and running around the house with them...he was such an amazing little thief. He was always so quiet when he'd come up to snatch one and then I was usually the one chasing him around the house trying to get it from him before he put is big foot on it and decided to shred it. Lucian on the other hand isn't particular about the article of clothing. It could be socks, shirts, shorts, towels...whatever that little rascal can get his mouth on. Then it's off to chase him around to get it back. At least he hasn't picked up Leland's habit (yet) of the shredding.
Have a wonderful time on your trip...you so deserve it!!
