So if it wasn't bad enough that over the weekend, TWICE, I caught Jasper nose deep in the kitchen trash (she pulled out some old wrappings), I caught her nose deep in my closet this a.m. with my black boot in her mouth.
And when I tell her NO (with the kitchen trash) she acts like she can't hear me and keeps on w/her business. Now Shelby would at least respond to the word "NO". When I get closer to Jasper to pull her out of the trash, she cowers and acts lik I am going to strike her (which of course I would not - just trying to re-direct her focus). But the boot... SO NOT HAPPY!!!
So I banned her from the bedroom today (which as you all know, is her safe zone under my bed). After I got back from spin class and was rushing to get ready for work, this is what I saw. I had heard manic 'digging' and saw that she had built herself a little fort. Probably b/c her crate is closed off and she can't get into the bedroom to hide.
Oh and I noticed that 'someone' has been making GREAT progress on the laces of my favorite running shoes ...
We all know she's spoiled rotten and has a million toys of her own but yet apparently, not enough things to chew. Kids. She's one adorable brat, that is for sure.
Thank you Shelby Lynne for the penny over the weekend and for sending Jasper Lily some cues to make me laugh and smile today. I needed it!
OH and Jasper ran her first 1.5 miles yesterday. She did GREAT. I am working her up to a 5K (3.1 miles). She did about an 8:30 pace... slower than me but she hung the whole time - in her own lane - focused and in the zone.

Our story: Broke rear leg in June 2013 - non-conclusive results for cancer so leg was plated and pinned. Enlarged spleen in September 2013 and had it removed and was diagnosed with Hemangiosarcoma and started chemotherapy. Became a Tripawd January 8th, 2014 and definitive Hemangiosarcoma diagnosis. Three major surgeries in 7 months and Shelby took them all like a champ only to lose her battle to cancer in her brain. We had 8 amazing extra months together and no regrets. #shelbystrong #loveofmylife
L.AO yet again !!!
Jasper Lily is a CLOWN A clown dressed up as a dog!!!
My favoeite part of this story is.....every single part!!!
If that picture of her building a safe zone fort for herself doesn't make you open her bedroom door (yes, HER), then the whole Tripawd Community is storming the door and letting her in!!!
STANDING OVATION on her first 1.5 mile run....focused and in her lane...WOW!!!!
You, Ms. Alison, have a really good friend by your side. She's really enjoying having you as her friend too. I just well up when I think how far tht two of you have come in such a SHORT time!
Myrtle Mae is the same way about my shoes. I could give her everything in the house and she would still want to sneak my shoe. Chewing of paper is her next favorite thing. And yeah, "no" means nothing to her...well...other than making her wag more and watching me give in and laugh! She defines words in her own joyful way!
Jasper Lily, you keep on putting that fine nose of yours innthe trash! Surely that's what it was designed for!!!! Kind of like the way an Ant Eater's snout is designed to dig deep into ant hills!!! YAAAAAAAAAY JASPER LILY!!!
Such a fun pls! Thanks Alison!!!
LOVE!
Sally and Happy Hannah and Merry Myrtle too!
Happy Hannah had a glorious additional bonus time of over one yr & two months after amp for osteo! She made me laugh everyday! Joined April's Angels after send off meal of steak, ice cream, M&Ms & deer poop!
Alison,
Yep, everything Sally said!! Love, love, love this pic of J.L. !! I am truly amazed at how far you and her have come in a relatively short time......you both have kind of blossomed into butterflies, and have formed a definite bond you didn't think was possible. Shelby will always and forever be your soulmate, but you have more than enough love in your heart to love another pup again......Jasper is a very lucky pup.....Shelby surely knew this pup was for you.... !!
Much Love,
Bonnie & Angel Polly
