I have been taking Daryl to a class at our local pet store. The trainer there said that our dogs can pick up on our need for speed so to speak. Maybe try taking a cup of coffee (or a glass of wine) LOL out and just ignore the poop thing. Supposedly, we give off a smell when we are impatient Not real sure about that one, but I guess it is worth a try. Hugs from, Lori and TY
TY GUY, Best Black Lab ever! Diagnosed and had amp in January, 2014. Kicked MRSA's butt. Earned his angel wings on April 16, 2014. Run Free my boy and don't forget a shoe. Ty is a proud member of the " April Angels". Ty sent us Daryl, a Tripawd rescue in Sept. of 2016. Daryl is 5 +or -. We are also Pawrents to Chandler, a Border Collie mix who is 15 and 1/2, Lucy, a Corgi who is 7, 2 minis, 2 horses, and a feisty cat named Zoe. Zoe had a non skeletal Osteosarcoma removed in July 2015. No Chemo, she was at least 16. She is going strong although she is now completely blind. She is now close to 20 and her hobbies are eating and sleeping in front of her personal heater.
The girls do the same thing I can't rush them. And coats I give up on that right now. I have put them on. They stay on for a while then Snickers thinks she has to pull them off of everyone. There are days I can get them to stay on hopefully. Its cold here too so hopefully she learns to leave them on.
Hugs

I LOVE Lori's thought about taking a "beverage" out while the furkids do their "business"...
Although I'm not much of a wine drinker...I like a beer every now and then. Although, I'd probably have to carry 2 bottles around with me with as long as it takes Lucian sometimes to poop. Maybe if I get a little tipsy I won't care how cold it is outside or the ridiculous amount of time it's taking him to find the perfect spot to leave his deposit...
Thanks Lori...that's the best idea yet!!

May you finally be healthy and running free at the Rainbow Bridge. Until we meet again my sweet boy!
Cute threads. I fail miserably and getting Adelaide to do her business when I want her to. I guess typical husky, she's like, whatever, let's go smell leaves and look for critters to chase. But every time she does her business, I'm a fool with all the "yay Addy! Good girl!" I don't want to jinx myself, but I swear she is getting better at doing her business. Still not as quickly as I would like it. But I'm just happy if she does it outside. Meanwhile, Aissa is so good... first thing out the door... #1. Then she follows Addy and I to the back of the property and does her #2. She get's "yay Aissa's and Good girls" too.
Karma, Adelaide and the crew, and our forever angel Brendol
Adelaide is a young tripawd Husky, from an injury. Her amp was on 10/1/12. She has 4 sisters, Aissa (a senior border collie/chow), Maggie May (a puppy Great Pyrenees), Mathilde and Morrigan and 1 baby brother, Bagheera. We are all watched over by our angel Brendol, who was dx with OSA 1/30/13, amp on 2/6/13, and left us on 8/20/13.

LOL Lori! Truly, if I drank booze while walking her, I would be as drunk as a skunk! She is going to have to learn REALLY quickly in about 48 hours since rain is the forecast for our trip to Seattle. She did a little less lolly-gagging today but that is because she didn't get a walk last night after daycare since I was over an hour and half late to pick her up (work) then both of us had our dinner delayed and I said whatever and went to bed! She at least got her dinner!
I am truly glad I am not the only one who is dealing with or has dealt with this. Like I tell her - It's not rocket science, you sniff, you squat, you go!
And Michelle - lol at the sweaters. At least she will wear her little coats but I think because they remind her of her thunder jacket (albeit less snug) and she likes it.
I cannot wait to report back (and I am sure you are ALL excited) about our trip to Seattle. Oh Jasper Lily ... so many new smells and extra squirrels / critters for you to chase!

Our story: Broke rear leg in June 2013 - non-conclusive results for cancer so leg was plated and pinned. Enlarged spleen in September 2013 and had it removed and was diagnosed with Hemangiosarcoma and started chemotherapy. Became a Tripawd January 8th, 2014 and definitive Hemangiosarcoma diagnosis. Three major surgeries in 7 months and Shelby took them all like a champ only to lose her battle to cancer in her brain. We had 8 amazing extra months together and no regrets. #shelbystrong #loveofmylife
Jasper and I are headed off to Seattle tomorrow so you might not hear from us as often (unless I can't get her to poop up there either).
Jasper is indeed a good and patient dog so I have good thoughts our flight will go great without any hitches! BUT just to be safe, I have sent her to daycare today for an extra day this week to super exhaust her. She was exhausted the other night when I got her home but she spent almost 12 hours there due to work and things beyond my control.... and her dinner was delayed over an hour which for her, is awful since she gets acid reflux if she doesn't eat on schedule (high maintenance).
BUT at least I know she's having fun at daycare! Check out Jasper and a few of her buddies from the other day... I think she looks pretty darn happy! She's supposed to be with the little dogs but it's nice to see she holds her own w/some of the bigger ones too.
Sending my Tripawd family warm and happy Thanksgiving wishes ... stay warm since i know most of you are in an arctic freeze zone!
