Today is Jasper's 2nd birthday (I think). When I got her, they said she was about a year and half so that would have given her a January 2013 birthday so I picked today - Jan 6 - as two years on this day, I closed the door on a chapter of my life (removing of a toxic person from my life) so I thought it would be a perfect day for Jasper to have come into this world and wait a bit to share her life with me! 
Of course I have to work today (back at work after a LONG break for winter break) but Jasper got her present this a.m. - another toy that has been marketed as in-destructible - and shaped like a squirrel. She got a bonus 30 minute walk this a.m. and did NOT get to play with the skunk we saw.
Jasper is definitely still a puppy and definitely in her terrible twos. She is developing some bad manners at the dog park (she barks incessantly) at the other dogs as she chases and 'herds' them. It's akin to someone yelling in your face. She got called a bully this weekend which was hilarious since she is so far from bully, it's not even funny. She is the most submissive dog at the park - except for the chasing and barking. But when going after the ball, when she gets there first (and she usually does) she always drops the balls and lets the other dogs have it. She shares!
She puts herself to bed at 8/830 p.m. but sadly, is UP at the witching hour around 4/430 a.m.! I try and keep her up later but it doesn't work. Her mornings start before most of the world.
So happy birthday little Jasper Lily! I am so glad you were born and found your way to me. Each birthday here on out will be your best!

Our story: Broke rear leg in June 2013 - non-conclusive results for cancer so leg was plated and pinned. Enlarged spleen in September 2013 and had it removed and was diagnosed with Hemangiosarcoma and started chemotherapy. Became a Tripawd January 8th, 2014 and definitive Hemangiosarcoma diagnosis. Three major surgeries in 7 months and Shelby took them all like a champ only to lose her battle to cancer in her brain. We had 8 amazing extra months together and no regrets. #shelbystrong #loveofmylife

She is a real doll-baby! You are both lucky to have found each other.
I have the same problem with my girls going to bed too early and knocking all the plugs out of the sockets early in the morning with wagging tails!! Just like you, I try tiring them out playing, but it really does nothing but tire ME out! LOL! I sleep pretty good until they hear me move in the bed and then it's "asses-and-elbows" everywhere! Lord have mercy!!
AND, speaking of the skunk, I can't let them out too early because we live in the woods and I swear I think the skunks wait for them in the yard. Poor Harmony had just started to smell better when she got sick. At least the skunks at the Bridge will smell like rainbows . . .

Kathi and Murphy
Murphy is a five year old Lab/Chessie cross. He was hit by a car on 10/29/12 and became a Tripawd on 11/24/12. On 2/5/13, he had a total hip replacement on his remaining back leg. He has absolutely no idea that he has only three legs!
UPDATE: Murphy lived his life to the fullest, right up until an aggressive bone lesion took him across the Rainbow Bridge on April 9, 2015 and he gained his membership in the April Angels. Run free, my love. You deserve it!

Happy Birthday Jasper!!! A bully??? Ha.....I'm convinced some dog park people are insane. Tanner does the same kind of things. He's a talker too. No, not great manners, but it is normal dog behavior...especially for the more high strung dogs. I think a lot of people just don't understand dog behavior and assume dogs are misbehaving if they aren't calm. If her hackles were up and teeth were showing, that would be bad behavior.
Well, I think between you, me, Deb and Lori we have officially have enough members to start our "I have a crazy dog support group". Welcome to the club Jasper!! LOL.

@ Elizabeth - yup, she's a proud member of the crazy dog club! I am sure she and Tanner would have a blast together. She's only had her hackles up once (mohawk) and never bared her teeth... she just gets excited and wants to be heard! And boy oh boy is she ever!
Definitely no more skunk sightings ... no beuno, little jasper ... no beuno!

Oh and the squirrel toy -once squeaker out and one to go... she did tear through that canvas with her jaws! We'll be getting new kongs this week!

Well the squirrel made it 2 whole days ... actually a day in a half. So much for "jasper proof"...
Let's see how she does with this "indestructible" toy - made from REAL firehose! I would get her more kongs but she prefers to chew on 'material' or 'fabric' ...she also tried to chew through my leggings last night - while they were still ON me! #doglovestochew is her new hashtag on social media

I think you should email this to the manufacturer and have them stop false advertising! At least say "chew proof .......except for a dog named Jasper Lily"!

Wyatt Ray had a fire hose too, it lasted quite a while so you should get your money's worth with that one. Keep us posted.

Franklin, he was the Happiest Dog on Three Legs! Diagnosed 09/26/2012 with Osteosarcoma, amputated 12/4/2012. Had a wonderful 5 1/2 months painfree until he ran for the Bridge on 5/15/2013.
