I thought I'd share some pictures I got of Lucian just doing what puppies do...having a BLAST playing...when we had 70 degree temps on Tuesday. I hope these pics will bring a smile since we've had quite a bit of sad news around this community as of late. This just reminds me to be "more dog" and live in the present because that's all Lucian is thinking about...along with his ball and sticks of course...

May you finally be healthy and running free at the Rainbow Bridge. Until we meet again my sweet boy!
Wheeeeee!!! Now THAT is a great way to spend the day. Talk about being more dog!
I hope that you're getting nice weather there, the weather map looks scary!

LUCIAN!!! You are "poetry in motion"! Such an exquisite young boy! And HUGE!!!! You are growing leaps and bounds!
Sahana, how much did Leland weigh? Any feel yet for what Lucian will weigh as an adult? And...did you ever get his kidnesy checked?
Clearly Lucian is "floating like a butterfly" sailing through the air after his ball! Lucian and Merry Myrtle will have to get together for a stick gathering larty!
Thanks for the smiles! As you noted, we sure could use 'em!
Hugs and love to all!!
Sally and Alumni Happy Hannah and Merry Myrtle too!
Happy Hannah had a glorious additional bonus time of over one yr & two months after amp for osteo! She made me laugh everyday! Joined April's Angels after send off meal of steak, ice cream, M&Ms & deer poop!

When we had him at the vet a couple of Saturdays ago the vet said he weighed in at 64lbs but the scale number kept moving because Lucian wouldn't stand still. When hubby picked him up and weighed him at home (weighed himself and then him and Lucian together) he weighed 72lbs. So I'm guessing he's more in the 70lb range since hubby held him and he couldn't dance around on the scale.
Lucian's dad is 130lb I believe and Lucian seems to be following in his pawprints. He turns 6 months on 11/17/14 so I think he's pretty hefty for his age...
And I talked to hubby about my concern and he believes I was over-reacting. He says Lucian is a pup so he's just going to drink a lot so we just have to monitor the water we give him so he doesn't gorge himself. I watched that show "My Cat from Hell" the other weekend and they had a cat on there that would bury his face in water and just drink for 20 minutes or so. This cat just had an obsessive behavior over water because there wasn't anything medically wrong with him.
Everything else seems to be good with Lucian (eats plenty, coat is shiny, activity level seems normal for a pup, eyes and gums look good) so I think we're doing ok. I just need to get out of this mode of thinking something is going to happen with Lucian like it did with Leland.

Where are you again? We've got 70s here in LA for months on end... I would love a little bit of 'fall"... but Jasper and I are headed to Seattle in 1 1/2 weeks.... we'll get a healthy dose of 'fall' and rain! I can't wait to see how dumbo ears fairs in the rain which she has never seen (to my knowledge).
THank you for sharing!!! Definitely a happy dog!!!

Our story: Broke rear leg in June 2013 - non-conclusive results for cancer so leg was plated and pinned. Enlarged spleen in September 2013 and had it removed and was diagnosed with Hemangiosarcoma and started chemotherapy. Became a Tripawd January 8th, 2014 and definitive Hemangiosarcoma diagnosis. Three major surgeries in 7 months and Shelby took them all like a champ only to lose her battle to cancer in her brain. We had 8 amazing extra months together and no regrets. #shelbystrong #loveofmylife
What a looker he is!
And for Jasper, here is a look at what is happening in our "fall". Murphy us not so pleased, but Gus is in his element. He HATES warm weather.

kathi and Murphy
Murphy is a five year old Lab/Chessie cross. He was hit by a car on 10/29/12 and became a Tripawd on 11/24/12. On 2/5/13, he had a total hip replacement on his remaining back leg. He has absolutely no idea that he has only three legs!
UPDATE: Murphy lived his life to the fullest, right up until an aggressive bone lesion took him across the Rainbow Bridge on April 9, 2015 and he gained his membership in the April Angels. Run free, my love. You deserve it!

Alison,
We live in Martinsburg, WV which is the eastern panhandle of the state. 20 miles north or south and we're in VA and MD...we're 1 1/2 hours from DC. This time in November we're usually in the 40's but on Tuesday we must have had a heat wave come through because we were pushing 70 degrees. It's running about 40 degrees right now but I think the temp is supposed to drop from the "polar vortex" that's working it's way down from the north...YEEPPPEEEE!!!!
I can't wait to hear about Jasper's adventures in Seattle and the dreaded rain. Hope the rain doesn't scare her too much.
Kathi,
Wow look at it snow!! This weather sure has been up and down lately. Gus sure looks happy just chillin in some snow!!! Just love the pictures!!

Yeah Sahana, all of us who had pups sent to us by our Guardians have mastered the art of worrying and being excellent hypochondriacs when it comes to imaginary health issues with our pups.! I think your seemingly level-headed husband could teach us all a thing or two about not making a mountain out of a molehill!
JASPER has never seen RAIN?? Rain, she's never seen, or been out in the rain? OMD! That's crazy!
GUS, you are the definition of "contentment"! Talk about being "one with the snow"...........u
And there's poor Murphy, still rooting around looking for green beans!

nope ... southern CA is in an epic drought and in the 5 months Jasper has been w/me - no rain. This should be a GREAT trip... Dumbo ears will freak out for sure since she's scared of wind and other random things ... oh and the weather report has 28 - 35 degrees for seattle. ... we will both freeze!
