ok.. so first.. to let you all in on a bit of history... Canada did away with the "penny" about 2 years ago? I think. Anyhow.. pennies are very scarce here in Canada eh? Unless of course, you travel south and bring some back with you. I have not had pennies in the house for over a year....
so... a co-worker of mine's dog ended up with a cyst being removed from his shoulder... and Sparky has scratched it and broken open two stitches!! Sparky is a Labradoodle. I told Jim that I had Franklin's thunder coat and that he could borrow it for Sparky to try and see if that would help him. I used it for Franklin when he had a large cyst removed from his shoulder as well as to keep him a little snug after he became a tripawd.
So, I brought it to work yesterday monring.. and Jim took it home to Sparky at lunch time. It fit him on the last velcro area.. but like Jim says.. if it works, he might go buy one to keep for Sparky. Until then, I told him.. just use Franklin's and when he's healed up and not needing it, toss it back. After all.. I have two doggies at home that I could use it for as well. Besides, they are like $70 and if this gets him through his healing process.. then save the $70 and buy him a few extra pig ears!!
Well.. Jim showed me a picture of Sparky after lunch yesterday wearing the jacket and he looked quite snug as a bug in a rug!
So.. moving forward... I go downstairs with some laundry last night.. and I am in my stocking feet. As I stand in front of the washing machine on the little throw rug, I step to the left and feel something under my foot. I lifted my foot and what was there? A penny.
Hi Franklin! I think he was saying... "good call mum... Sparky will be a-ok now and not be able to scratch!"
Then my heart went wag wag wag...
and yup.. I lost it.
But.. I smiled as my cheeks got wet!
Christine... with Franklin waggin' in her heart♥
Franklin, he was the Happiest Dog on Three Legs! Diagnosed 09/26/2012 with Osteosarcoma, amputated 12/4/2012. Had a wonderful 5 1/2 months painfree until he ran for the Bridge on 5/15/2013. Always in my heart, and always a guardian angel of my pack... You can follow his Tripawd Adventures, before and after, in my blog, Frank'n'Farter!
Awwwww Christine,
Franklin was definitely letting you know you made a good call in helping out Sparky with his Thunder coat. Your experience has me smiling over here.
Our beloved Tripawds that have passed are never as far away as we may think.

May you finally be healthy and running free at the Rainbow Bridge. Until we meet again my sweet boy!
Christine ... that was DEFINITELY a sign from your beloved Franklin!!! Such a kind/caring soul... sharing the thunder shirt!
I can't say it any better than Sahana... our Tripawds transition but they always remain in our hearts ...

Our story: Broke rear leg in June 2013 - non-conclusive results for cancer so leg was plated and pinned. Enlarged spleen in September 2013 and had it removed and was diagnosed with Hemangiosarcoma and started chemotherapy. Became a Tripawd January 8th, 2014 and definitive Hemangiosarcoma diagnosis. Three major surgeries in 7 months and Shelby took them all like a champ only to lose her battle to cancer in her brain. We had 8 amazing extra months together and no regrets. #shelbystrong #loveofmylife
